JOSHUA B. FARMER is a partner in the firm of Tomblin, Farmer & Morris, PLLC, which has offices in Rutherfordton, North Carolina; Shelby, North Carolina; and Spartanburg, South Carolina. His main areas of practice includes an emphasis on representing consumer and business debtors in proceedings under chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Farmer is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the South Carolina Bar. He earned his B.A. and B.S. degrees, summa cum laude, from Wofford College and his J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law. A. BURTON SHUFORD is of counsel with The Bain Group, PLLC. For more than 25 years, he has concentrated his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, debtor-creditor law and commercial litigation. Mr. Shuford has represented debtors, creditors and trustees in his bankruptcy practice. In representing debtors, he has handled Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases for a wide range of individuals and companies over his years of practice. Mr. Shuford has also represented numerous creditors before the bankruptcy court handling matters such as motions for relief from the stay, filing claims and a many other creditor related issues. He was appointed to the panel of trustees for the Western District of North Carolina in 1989, and has handled more than 4000 cases as trustee. In addition to serving as trustee, Mr. Shuford has represented other bankruptcy trustees before the bankruptcy court. He has also employed the skills learned in the bankruptcy arena in non-bankruptcy litigation by serving as a receiver in several state court proceedings. Mr. Shuford earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, and his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina. RICHARD B. SORRELL began the Sorrell Law Firm with the mission of providing quality legal services at an affordable price. Mr. Sorrell's main areas of practice are elder law, estate planning, business law and bankruptcy. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar, Cabarrus County Bar, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Mr. Sorrell is admitted to practice in North Carolina. He earned his B.A degree in biblical studies and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Sorrell spent two years working for United States Congressman Mike Sodrel.
