MERCER, R.N., B.S.N., is a legal nurse consultant with Faison & Gillespie in Durham, which is a law firm dedicated to medical malpractice. For the past nine years, Ms. Mercer's nursing career has included clinical nursing with an emphasis on medical and surgical patient care, operating room nursing, and developing and coordinating research studies in the department of surgery at Duke University. She has published extensively in her field and has been a frequent presenter at seminars and professional conferences. Ms. Mercer is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and serves as past president of the Eastern North Carolina Chapter. She earned her B.S. degree in nursing from Valparaiso University.
