June 13 - Asheville CAROLINE T. KNOX is an attorney with the law firm of Van Winkle, Buck, Wall, Starnes and Davis, P.A., where she practices in the areas of elder law, estate planning and estate administration. She earned her B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University. Ms. Knox is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (member, Estate Planning, Fiduciary Law and Elder Law sections) and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She serves on the council of the Elder Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. RICK S. QUEEN is an estate planning and elder law attorney practicing in western North Carolina. His practice focuses on wills and trusts, guardianships, long-term care planning, special needs trusts and veterans benefits. Mr. Queen earned his B.S. degree from Western Carolina University and his J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he served as a Marine Corps officer and pilot. Mr. Queen also practiced with KPMG, LLP, a global tax and accounting firm, before returning home. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and is a Veterans Administration accredited attorney. Mr. Queen is admitted to practice in all North Carolina courts, as well as before the U.S. Tax Court and the 4th Circuit Federal Appeals Court. June 14 - Charlotte NATALIE J. MILLER is an attorney in Mooresville, North Carolina, where her main areas of practice are elder law, estate administration, estate planning and real estate. After earning her B.S. degree from the University of Southern California, she earned her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. While at Wake Forest, Ms. Miller was a member of the Trial Bar and the Christian Legal Society. She also participated in the Clinic for the Elderly and the Litigation Clinic. Ms. Miller completed several internships while in law school, including a summer as the Mecklenburg County Superior Court Law Clerk and a summer as an intern at the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office. She is the attorney for the Charles Mack Citizen's Center Senior Probono Project. Ms. Miller is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (Real Estate and Elder Law sections) and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys. She also is a member of the Iredell County Bar Association. NICOLE VANDIVER BRYAN is a partner in the estate and elder firm of Vandiver & Bryan, PLLC, practicing exclusively in the areas of elder law, estate and tax planning, and the administration of estates and trusts. She handles all aspects of trusts and estate with a major part of her practice involving assisting clients and their families with legal and tax issues such as estate planning, estate settlement, asset preservation, charitable giving, guardianships, governmental programs (such as Medicare and Medicaid), veteran's benefits and disability planning including the use of durable powers or attorney, living trusts, health care powers of attorney and living wills. Ms. Bryan is serving her second term on the executive council of the North Carolina Bar's Elder Law Section and as the section's treasurer. She is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section and the Elder Law Section of the North Carolina Bar, the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and the Christian Legal Society. Ms. Bryan earned her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina and her J.D. degree from Campbell University. DORI J. WIGGEN is a partner in the Wiggen Law Group, PLLC in Durham, where her practice focuses solely on the areas of estate planning, elder law, medicaid, veterans aid and attendance, and probate and special needs planning. Ms. Wiggen assists clients with estate planning, probate/estate administration, wills and trusts, health care powers of attorney, durable powers of attorney, living wills, Medicaid counseling, guardianships, elder law, special needs trusts, and veterans benefits.
