JOSEPH B. HENNINGER JR. is an attorney at Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman, where his practice focuses on estate planning, estate administration, taxation, business succession planning, elder law planning, special needs planning, asset protection for business owners and estate planning for business owners. Mr. Henninger's publication and presentations include “Asset Protection Planning”, “N.C. Estate Administration” and “Medicaid Estate Recovery Affecting Title to Real Property”. He also was a Morehead Scholarship Recipient and was selected for inclusion in North Carolina Super Lawyers in the practice area of Estate Planning and Probate (2006-2010). Mr. Henninger is a board certified specialist in estate planning and probate law, and is admitted to the North Carolina Bar and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the American, North Carolina, (Elder Law and Estates, Trusts and Probate Sections') and the Mecklenburg County bar associations. Mr. Henninger also is on the Board of Advisors for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Charlotte Estate and Probate Council National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and his J.D. degree from Seattle University. ZACHARY F. LAMB is with the law firm of Patla, Straus, Robinson & Moore, P.A. in Asheville, North Carolina, where his practice focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive personal estate plans; assisting clients in navigating the administration and probate process; advising clients on business law issues, particularly those affecting closely held businesses; and representing clients in tax controversy matters. Mr. Lamb earned his bachelor's degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University, his J.D. degree,with honors, from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and is a member of the Land of the Sky Estate Planning Council, the 28th Judicial District Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association (Estate Planning and Taxation sections), the Rotary Club of Asheville, and is on the board of directors of the Partnership for Pastoral Counseling. NICOLA J. MELBY is an attorney at the Brevard and Asheville offices of McGuire, Wood & Bissette, P.A., where her practice focuses on elder law, estate planning and special needs trust planning. Since 1999, Ms. Melby has been certified by The Florida Bar as an elder law specialist. She previously served as law clerk to the Hon. Gary M. Farmer, 4th District Court of Appeal, West Palm Beach, Florida. Ms. Melby is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association and The Florida Bar. She currently serves as the pro bono chair for the Elder Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. She has served on the Florida Statewide Public Policy Task Force by appointment of the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Melby also has served on the Board of Directors for a Florida Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, has served as the Continuing Legal Education chair for the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar and is a past officer of The Florida Bar Elder Law Section. In 2001, the Section awarded her the "Member of the Year" award and she shared this honor again in 2004 with her fellow task force members. She has served by appointment of the Florida Bar on the Elder Law Certification Committee. Ms. Melby is admitted to practice in North Carolina. She graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of New Haven and earned her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Stetson College of Law.
