JASON R. BENTON is a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP. Mr. Benton has litigation experience in both trial and appellate courts. His practice focuses on the defense of personal injury, property damage, products liability and professional malpractice claims. Mr. Benton is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and the Eastern District of North Carolina. Prior to joining Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in 2003, he worked in the insurance defense practice with another Charlotte law firm. Mr. Benton is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association. He earned his B.A., cum laude, and J.D. degrees from Wake Forest University. ADAM M. BRIDGERS is an attorney with Richard L. Robertson & Associates, P.A., where his main areas of practice are commercial collections, commercial litigation and employment law. Mr. Bridgers joined the law firm of Richard L. Robertson & Associates, P.A. in March of 2010. He earned his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Charlotte School of Law. During his tenure at Charlotte Law, Mr. Bridgers served as editor in chief of the Charlotte Law Review and as law school's first Student Bar Association President. Prior to joining Richard L. Robertson & Associates, P.A., he worked as a legal consultant for Huron Consulting Group, LLC, one of the largest consulting firms in the United States. Mr. Bridgers also gained invaluable legal experience as a summer law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Frank D. Whitney and as a judicial extern to U.S. Magistrate Judge David Keesler, both judges in the Western District of North Carolina. He is a member of the Mecklenburg County and North Carolina (Litigation Section) bar associations, and the North Carolina State Bar. KATHLEEN H. DOOLEY is a partner with McGuireWoods LLP, where she is a courtroom litigator. For 20 years, she has represented diverse business entities such as entertainment facilities, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, life/health insurers and financial services providers involved in complex disputes. Her experience includes, but has not been limited to, litigating business disputes, agent liability, unfair and deceptive trade practices, bad faith, intellectual property, royalties disputes, gray market, consumer credit insurance class action, commercial leases, and products liability. In addition, Ms. Dooley provides insurance coverage counseling and litigation assistance, with 20 years of insurance coverage experience, that includes first-party and third-party insurance coverage (primary and excess), including but not limited to, nursing home/long-term care, environmental, asbestos, fraternity, employment liability, business interruption, D&O, and technology E&O issues, as well as consumer credit insurance, medical benefits and life insurance issues. She earned her B.A. degree from Seton Hall University and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was articles editor of the Seton Hall Law Review. Ms. Dooley is a member of the Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and American bar associations, and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and the International Association of Defense Counsel. ANN DORSETT is an attorney with McGuireWoods LLP, where her practice focuses on insurance, including insurance coverage litigation, claims counseling and litigation management. She has represented clients in multiparty litigation concerning insurance coverage for environmental liabilities, mass tort actions and construction defect issues. In addition to insurance-related litigation, Ms. Dorsett's practice includes commercial contract disputes and defense of tort litigation against a range of clients from manufacturers to homeowners associations. She routinely assists clients with internal investigations and in responding to electronic discovery and regulatory requests. Ms. Dorsett is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section and Torts and Insurance Practice Section), Defense Research Institute, Insurance Law Committee, North Carolina Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar Association and North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. JOSEPHINE H. HICKS is a partner and the chair of the torts, trial and insurance practice group in the Charlotte law office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, where she practices in the areas of insurance coverage, tort defense, products liability and litigation. Her experience in insurance coverage litigation includes disputes over coverage for environmental and toxic tort claims, construction disputes, industrial accidents, general liability and "stop loss" insurance for health benefit plans. Ms. Hicks is the current co-chair on the construction subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association. Her publications and speaking engagements on insurance coverage topics have addressed choice of law, trigger of coverage, D&O liability coverage and insurance coverage issues for business lawyers. Ms. Hicks has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in insurance law and in Business North Carolina magazine's Legal Elite in litigation. She is a graduate of The University of the South and Vanderbilt University School of Law. After law school, Ms. Hicks served as a clerk to the Honorable Harry W. Wellford of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
