HELAYNE LEVY is of counsel to The Elder Law Firm of Andrew Olsen in Wilmington, North Carolina. She received her M.A. degree from Columbia University and her J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School. Ms. Levy is pursuing a Masters of Law (LL.M.) degree in elder law through Stetson University College of Law and is admitted to practice law in North Carolina and New York. PHILIP R. MILLER is a partner with the law firm of Blanchard, Miller, Lewis & Isley, P.A., where he devotes his practice to personal injury and nursing home negligence. He is a frequent lecturer on legal ethics, automobile tort litigation and nursing home malpractice litigation. Mr. Miller has tried cases to verdict in North Carolina state and federal courts and has argued cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. He received his B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. degree from Campbell University School of Law. Mr. Miller is a member of the Wake County Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association where he presently serves as chair of the Litigation Section. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform and the Braxton Craven Inn of Court. He also is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, where he was a founder of the Nursing Home Litigation subgroup. Mr. Miller presently serves on the Board of Governors of NCAJ. He has been recognized by Business North Carolina Legal Elite and North Carolina Super Lawyers in the area of litigation. CHRISTINE M. RYAN is of counsel to the Raleigh law firm of Herring Mills & Kratt PLLC. She practices in the areas of elder and special needs planning as well as estate planning and administration. Ms. Ryan counsels clients on health care advance directives, wills and trusts, Medicaid planning and asset protection strategies. She also handles guardianship hearings for petitioners and respondents. Ms. Ryan earned her B.A. degree from Fairfield University, her M.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. She also completed post-baccalaureate courses in speech-language pathology at George Washington University. Ms. Ryan is an AOC certified superior court and estates program mediator and holds a North Carolina speech-language pathology license and an ASHA certificate of clinical competence. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals and all North Carolina federal district courts. Ms. Ryan is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (Memberships and Law Related Education committees), the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and Wake Women Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Wake County Bar Association. She also serves as a board member of the Literacy Council of Wake County. LISA SALINES-MONDELLO is an attorney with Salines-Mondello Law Firm, PC, and is of counsel with the Elder Law Firm of Andrew Olsen in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she practices in the areas of estate planning, elder law and probate law, focusing her practice on the transfer and protection of her client's assets. Her practice involves estate planning, asset protection planning, Medicaid, Veteran and elder law issues, special needs planning, and trust and estate administration. After earning her J.D. degree, Ms. Salines-Mondello earned her LL.M degree from Boston University School of Law and is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Massachusetts. LESLEE R. SHARP is in solo practice in Raleigh. Her practice focus is real property with an emphasis in the representation of sellers, buyers and developers of commercial property. Since obtaining her J.D. degree from Washburn University School of Law, in Topeka, Kansas, in 1985, Ms. Sharp has concentrated on real property issues in both private practice and as in-house counsel for a major brokerage company, a national title insurer and a telecommunications company. She is a past member of Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW), the North Carolina Bar Association's Real Property and Elder Law sections and a member of the Wake County Bar Association Real Property Law Section. She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, California* and Arizona* (*currently inactive).
