THEODORE R. HARPER has a solo practice with Triangle Legal Solutions in Durham, North Carolina, where most of his work concerns licensing and business contracts for advanced technology companies, principally in the software, semiconductor and biotechnology industries. His clients include foreign companies operating in the United States as well as U.S. companies operating domestically and overseas. Before founding Triangle Legal Solutions, Mr. Harper was a partner in the Raleigh office of the law firm of Kilpatrick Stockton where he was one of the leaders of their team of technology company lawyers; an in-house lawyer with Seer Technologies in Cary leading to its IPO in 1995 and a partner in the Los Angeles and Singapore offices of Graham & James in the 1980s. Mr. Harper has been a senior vice president of a business consulting company, president of a non-profit company, a member of the board of directors of a government contractor and a college instructor of astronomy. Mr. Harper is a named inventor on two telecommunications patents. He is admitted to the bars of North Carolina, California (currently inactive) and the U.S. Patent Office. Mr. Harper received his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall at the University of California in Berkeley and has an M.B.A. degree and B.A. degree in physics. PAIGE KURTZ is a member of the law firm of Sprouse & Kurtz, PLLC. Her main areas of practice include construction law, commercial collections and general business litigation. Ms. Kurtz primarily represents businesses in commercial transactions, but also has represented individuals in contract and other civil litigation disputes. She represents creditors in all districts of the bankruptcy courts in North Carolina. Ms. Kurtz has a statewide practice and in addition to appearing in many counties across the state, she also has represented clients in the appellate courts of North Carolina and the federal district courts. Ms. Kurtz has a concentration in representing suppliers, subcontractors and homeowners in the construction industry. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. degree from Campbell University. Ms. Kurtz is a member of the North Carolina State Bar (Construction Law Section-Membership Chair), the Wake County Bar Association and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. BRANDON S. NEUMAN is a partner in the law firm of Shanahan Law Group, PLLC, where his practice includes all aspects of business and commercial litigation and arbitration in federal and state courts, including contract disputes, business torts, corporate litigation, shareholder disputes, intellectual property litigation and commercial arbitration. Mr. Neuman has extensive litigation experience representing clients in state and federal courts throughout the country. He represents companies and individuals in complex commercial litigation, class actions, contract matters, employment matters and matters involving a variety of technologies, (trademark infringement, copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, antitrust violations and E-commerce). In addition, his practice includes providing strategic advice and risk management to companies in a wide variety of legal matters. Mr. Neuman frequently represents employers and employees in a variety of labor law matters, including cases involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, wage and hour disputes, the North Carolina Wage and Hour Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), employment contract and severance disputes, retaliation, and regulatory violations. In 2010 and 2011, he was named to the super lawyers - rising stars list in the areas of business litigation and employment/labor. Mr. Neuman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with honors, from Arizona State University in 1997. TONYA POWELL is an attorney with the Shanahan Law Group, PLLC, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial real estate, banking and finance, and general corporate law. In addition to more than fifteen years of commercial real estate and lender representation experience, Ms. Powell has worked as in-house corporate counsel where she gained valuable experience in the formation, restructure and operation of limited liability companies, including complex joint venture entities created for ownership and development of real estate projects, as well as working closely with lenders on complex debt restructures and workouts. She is a board-certified specialist in commercial real property law: business, commercial and industrial transactions. Ms. Powell earned her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Wake Forest University and her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina. She is a member of the American and North Carolina (Real Property Section Counsel) bar associations. PHILIP SASSER is a graduate of Davidson College and Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. He has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 2008 and is a member of the State Bar of North Carolina; the Bar of the Eastern District of North Carolina; the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association; the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys; and The Federalist Society. BARRY K. SHUSTER is an attorney in Cary, North Carolina. He has advised and represented hospitality, manufacturing, media, real estate development and tourism businesses and insurers in a variety of disputes and transactions, and has litigated in state and federal court. Mr. Shuster serves on the faculties at both North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Business and East Carolina University College of Human Ecology, where he teaches hospitality and tourism industry law and ethics. A proponent of alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Shuster is certified as a superior court mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission and is an appointed district court arbitrator in the North Carolina Tenth Judicial Circuit (Wake County). He earned his B.A degree from U.C. Davis, his M.B.A from Pepperdine University and his J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University. Mr. Shuster is admitted to practice law before all North Carolina state and U.S. district courts.
