ANDREA D. EDWARDS is an attorney with Pope, McMillan, Kutteh, Privette, Edwards & Schieck, P.A., where she practices in the areas of family law and adoption. She is a certified family financial case mediator, a certified superior court mediator and a certified arbitrator. Ms. Edwards earned her B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. She is a member of the North Carolina and Iredell County (past chair of the Family Law Committee) bar associations. JANE R. THOMPSON is an assistant attorney general with the North Carolina Department of Justice representing the North Carolina Division of Social Services. She also is a legal consultant to the Division - 33 County Department of Social Services; and the juvenile court judges and clerks of court on child abuse and neglect, termination of parental right, foster care, adoption, and federal and state child welfare legislation. Ms. Thompson serves on the North Carolina Court Improvement Project Legislative Committee and the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section Adoption Subcommittee. She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Social Services Attorneys. Ms. Thompson has taught individual classes on adoption law at Wake Forest and Campbell Law Schools, and is the primary author of "Parenthood Through Adoption and Assisted Conception" in Lee's North Carolina Family Law. She also has presented training on juvenile law and adoption for social workers, and annually presents on adoption law at the Conference of Assistant and Deputy Clerks of Court, as well as presenting juvenile law topics for annual juvenile court judges certification training and other judicial conferences. Ms. Thompson earned her A.B. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. REBECCA K. WATTS is an attorney with the law firm of Krusch & Sellers, P.A. in Charlotte. Ms. Watts has extensive experience in the area of family law, and is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist and a Certified Family Financial Mediator. She earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Florida State University and her J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating from Law School, Ms. Watts practiced in the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill area before moving to Charlotte in 2006. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (Family Law Section) where she also serves on the Family Section Council and is the Chair of the Family Section's Domestic Violence Committee, and a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar (Family Law Section) where she serves as co-chair of the Family Law Section.
