KAY LYNN LEE had a long acquaintance with both school (14 years and 7 undergraduate schools interspersed with marriage, a child and moving from Georgia through Montana to Alaska) and work before graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1987. During her law school career, she achieved the distinction of winning all three types of Moot Court Awards (Best Constitutional Law Brief, Best Oralist for Criminal Law and First Place in Law & Motion). Her first two divorce cases involved Navy wives whom she talked into staying married. She practiced for 17 years in SoCal, primarily as a trial attorney, and then decided to retire to Montana in 2004. Retirement failed to suit her, so she un-retired in 2005 and is now a partner in the firm of Henning, Keedy & Lee, where she is practicing almost exclusively in the field of family law, for which she finds she is eminently suited.

BRIAN P. MULDOON is owner of The Law Office of Brian Muldoon in Whitefish, Montana. Mr. Muldoon is an experienced family law mediator and attorney who has been working with families in conflict for more than 30 years. He is the author of The Heart of Conflict (Putnam 1996) and created the HeartWorks Archetype Assessment Tool (HAAT) as a way to identify emotional barriers that get in the way of reaching agreement. He was instrumental in establishing a certificate program in conflict resolution at the University of Chicago and taught the first courses in alternative dispute resolution at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. He has three adult children and frequently lectures on neuroscience and the law. He is admitted to practice in Montana and Arizona. Mr. Muldoon received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from St. Louis University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law.

RYAN A. PHELAN is an attorney at P. Mars Scott Law Offices in Missoula, Montana. Her practice is focused in family law, including divorce, parenting and grandparenting cases. She holds a B.S. degree, in business, from MSU-Bozeman and a J.D. degree from the University of Montana. Ms. Phelan volunteers regularly at the Western Montana Self-Help Law Center and has been involved in more than eight appeals to the Montana Supreme Court. She has twice been recognized by the judges of the Fourth Judicial District Court in Missoula for her commitment to pro-bono legal services, provided through Montana Legal Services and the Western Montana Self-Help Law Center. Ms. Phelan is a regular presenter at the Ravalli County Parenting Orientation Class. She is also the secretary of the Miller Creek Neighborhood Counsel.
