ROBERT S. ADDISON is a shareholder in the Jackson law firm of Daniel Coker Horton & Bell, P.A., where he focuses his practice of law on the defense of arbitration and mediation; general insurance defense; general tort liability; medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical; personal injury litigation; and products liability. Mr. Addison has lectured frequently on topics relative to litigation practice and has written nationally recognized articles concerning the enforcement of oral settlement agreements. He is an adjunct professor at Belhaven College. Mr. Addison earned his B.M.E. degree, cum laude, from the University of Southern Mississippi and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi, where he served as chairman of the Moot Court Board and as a member of the National Mock Trial Team. He is a member of The Mississippi Bar and the Hinds County and American bar associations. Mr. Addison also is a member of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, Council on Litigation Management (CLM), Diversity Law Institute, Institute of Trial Presentation, Litigation Counsel of America and Defense Research Institute. RICHARD A. COURTNEY is a founding partner of the Jackson law firm of Frascogna Courtney, PLLC, where he chairs the Elder Law, Estate and Special Needs Planning sections. His primary areas of practice are elder law, public benefits law (Medicaid, Medicare and SSI), personal asset protection and estate planning, trusts, guardianships and conservatorships, nursing home and disability rights, and probate administration. Mr. Courtney is the first attorney in Mississippi to receive the designation of Certified Elder Law Attorney by the American Bar Association-accredited National Elder Law Foundation. He is a former assistant dean and current adjunct professor of elder law at Mississippi College School of Law, where he has been an adjunct professor of law since 1991. Mr. Courtney is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (Board of Directors), the Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Trusts and Estates Section of The Mississippi Bar (past president), and the Mississippi Estate Planning Council. He is a charter member of the Special Needs Alliance, LLC, a national organization of special needs planning attorneys. Mr. Courtney has written articles and has delivered many presentations for lawyers, health-care professionals and other groups on elder law and estate planning subjects; and topics of interest to senior adults, caregiver children and spouses, and families with special needs. He earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Mississippi College and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi Law School. BARRY K. JONES is a shareholder in the Jackson law firm of Wise Carter Child & Caraway, P.A., where he practices in the areas of state and federal taxation, estate planning, estate administration, and elder law. He also is a certified public accountant. Mr. Jones is a frequent speaker to professional, civic and academic groups on taxation, estate planning, estate administration and elder law topics. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American (Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections) and Tennessee (Taxation, and Probate and Trust Law sections) bar associations; The Mississippi Bar (Taxation, and Estate and Trust sections); and the State Bar of Georgia (Taxation, Fiduciary Law and Elder Law sections). Mr. Jones also is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Association of Attorneys-Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Personal Financial Planning Section) and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. He previously served on the national Board of Directors of the 29,000-member Financial Planning Association and is a member of the Mississippi Chapter of FPA. Mr. Jones is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and earned his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Emory University School of Law. RICHARD H. YOUNG is an attorney with The Elder Law Firm of Mississippi, LLC. He engaged a general practice of law until the mid 1990's, when he began to develop an elder law practice. Sensing a need for representation for seniors, Mr. Young's practice moved to the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and probating estates. In 2005, the law firm was renamed The Elder Law Firm of Mississippi, LLC and additional services for the elderly were added, including Medicaid planning. He speaks frequently concerning elder law issues to various nonprofit and professional groups. Mr. Young is a member of The Mississippi Bar, the Northern and Southern Federal Circuit District of Mississippi, the Hinds and Rankin County Bar Associations, the National Academy of Elder Lawyers Attorneys (NAELA), and is a former member of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his J.D. degree from Mississippi College School of Law.
