YANCY B. BURNS is the principal of Burns & Associates, PLLC, with offices in Jackson and Kosciusko, Mississippi, where his areas of practice include civil litigation, Mississippi Workers' Compensation Act claims, Jones Act, and premises liability. Mr. Burns holds a Doctor of Laws degree, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law and is licensed to practice law within the state of Mississippi and the District of Columbia. He received his B.A. degree in political science from the University of Mississippi, and is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the University of Mississippi Army Reserve Officers Training Corps. Mr. Burns achieved the Outstanding Student Award in Corporations, and was selected as a member of Phi Kappa Phi honorary society while attending law school. He has served as lead counsel in more than 25 state court jury trials, ten bench trials, and more than two hundred Mississippi workers' compensation hearings. Mr. Burns received a BV rating by Martindale Hubbell for 2008-2009. He was a member of the Bench-Bar Committee, Mississippi Bar Association (2006-2008), and the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Educational Committee (2007-2008). He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate and certified member of the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBOTA). AMANDA SMITH MULLINS is an attorney at the law firm of Wilkins Tipton, P.A., where her practice primarily consists of insurance defense litigation. Ms. Mullins earned her B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi and her J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in all Mississippi state courts and the federal district courts in Mississippi. Ms. Mullins is a member of The Mississippi Bar and the American and Hinds County bar associations. WILLIAM B. STEWART is a shareholder with the Ridgeland law firm of Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush, P.A. He has represented a number of insurance companies and their insured in both state and federal courts in Mississippi and Louisiana, involving the defense of claims arising from personal injury, wrongful death, construction defects, and exposure to asbestos. Mr. Stewart also has experience in estate and domestic matters, and has trial experience in both the Circuit and Chancery Courts in Mississippi. He is admitted to the Mississippi state courts; the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern districts of Mississippi; the Louisiana state courts; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Western and Middle districts of Louisiana; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Mr. Stewart earned his B.A. degree from Louisiana State University and his J.D. degree from Mississippi College School of Law. He is a member of The Mississippi Bar, and Louisiana State and Madison County bar associations, and the Mississippi Defense Lawyer's Association.
