HON. JAMES R. BICKEL is the presiding judge of the 28th Judicial Circuit Court, a position he has held since 2001. Judge Bickel established the Adult Drug courts in Vernon County in July 2001; in Barton County in October 2002; and in Cedar County in October 2004. Prior to his position on the 28th Circuit bench, he had a general law practice with the firm of Russell, Brown, Bickel and Breckenridge from 1973 to 2000. He also served as municipal judge of Nevada, Missouri, from January 15, 1976 to 2000. Judge Bickel is a member of the American Bar Association and the Vernon County Bar Association. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law. HON. RICHARD COPELAND was appointed associate circuit judge to Jasper County, Judicial Circuit 29, in January 16, 1981. Judge Copeland received his B.A. degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri. HON. MICHAEL CORDONNIER was appointed circuit judge of Greene County, Judicial Circuit 31, in January 2008, and was elected circuit judge 2008 to fill unexpired term. Prior to his election, he was engaged in private practice as a partner in the firm of Cunningham, Harpool & Cordonnier L.C., until merger and became partner with Lathrop & Gage, L.C. in 2004. Judge Cordonnier is a member of the American, Missouri, and Springfield Metropolitan bar associations. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Missouri and his J.D. degree from the University of Tulsa. HON. CHARLES CURLESS was elected associate circuit judge of Barton County in November 1994, and has served in that capacity since January 1, 1995. Prior to becoming a judge, he practiced law for 14 years, first in Springfield with the law firm of Woolsey, Fisher, Whiteaker, McDonald & Ansley; then in Lamar with the firm of Nichols & Curless, later Nichols, Curless & Nichols. Judge Curless is very active in bench and bar related activities including serving, by appointment of the Supreme Court, on the Legislative Committee, Executive Council of the Judicial Conference, Court and Community Collaboration Committee and the Court Liaison Committee, among others. He is past president and board member of the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges. Judge Curless earned his undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University and his J.D. degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. HON. MICHAEL HENDRICKSON was elected as Hickory County associate judge in 2006. Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Hendrickson served as a special assistant U.S. attorney, an assistant Missouri attorney general, chief assistant prosecutor for Taney County, assistant prosecutor for Jefferson County, and was in the private practice of law. He is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Kansas Bar Association. Judge Hendrickson earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Nebraska College of Law. HON. JOHN LePAGE was elected as associate circuit judge for McDonald County in 1998. He is past president of the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges and served as a board member from 2002 to 2007. Judge LePage earned his B.A. degree from Bemidji State University and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law. HON. JOHN G. MOODY has served as the circuit judge of the 44th Judicial Circuit, comprised of Wright, Douglas and Ozark counties, since January 1, 1995. Judge Moody received his undergraduate degree from St. Louis University and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law. HON. DAVID MUNTON is an associate circuit judge with Dade County, Judicial Circuit 28. Judge Munton was elected associate circuit judge of Dade County November 1994. Prior to his election, he was in private practice in Springfield and Bolivar, Missouri, from 1983 to 1994. Judge Munton received his B.S. degree from Southwest Baptist College and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri. HON. JOSEPH SCHOEBERL is an associate circuit judge with Jasper County, Judicial Circuit 29. Judge Schoeberl took office in January 1995. Judge Schoeberl received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Missouri HON. SCOTT S. SIFFERMAN has been an associate circuit judge for Lawrence County since 1989. Prior to his position on the bench, Judge Sifferman was a prosecuting attorney for Lawrence County from 1982 to 1989, and he was in the private practice of law from 1980 to 1989. He was past president of the 39th Judicial Circuit and a past board member of the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges. Judge Sifferman earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. HON. MARK A. STEPHENS was elected as associate circuit judge of Stone County, Missouri, 39th Judicial Circuit in 2009. Prior to his election, he was in private practice for Van Matre & Harrison, in Columbia, Missouri. Judge Stephens is a member the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Judges. He received his B.S. degree, cum laude, from WSU in administration of justice, and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. MODERATOR - ANDREW K. BENNETT is an attorney with Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown, P.C. Attorneys at Law, where his areas of practice include: civil litigation, real estate, banking, commercial transactions and insurance law. Prior to joining CECB, Mr. Bennett was President and CEO of The Tenere Group, Inc., a holding company for Intermed Insurance Company and Interlex Insurance Company in Springfield. Before taking the President/CEO position, he served as the company's General Counsel and Vice President of Claims. Mr. Bennett is a member of the Missouri Bar Health and Hospital Law Committee and served as Chairman of the Medical-Legal Relations Committee. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Missouri and his J.D. degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
