AARON C. JACKSON is an attorney in the law firm of Polsinelli Shughart P.C., where he focuses his financial services practice on the enforcement of creditors' rights. Mr. Jackson defends and protects the rights of secured lenders by enforcing debt instruments, including promissory notes, mortgages, deeds of trust, and guarantees; by enforcing equitable rights and remedies of creditors, including obtaining injunctions and appointments of receivers; by effectuating foreclosures, deed transfers in lieu of foreclosure, Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 sales, and receiver sales; by litigating the priority and validity of construction liens and other security interests; by advising creditors in condemnation proceedings; by advising creditors in loan workouts and restructurings; and by representing creditors throughout all aspects of bankruptcy. Mr. Jackson has represented the interests of creditors in 13 different states and in various state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. In addition, Mr. Jackson has experience collecting judgments, prosecuting bankruptcy preference actions, and in general commercial litigation. He earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from Truman State University, and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from University of Illinois At Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the The Missouri Bar, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, and American Bankruptcy Institute. BEVERLY M. WEBER is a partner in the law firm of Martin, Leigh, Laws & Fritzlen P.C., where she focuses her practice in title insurance defense litigation, creditors' rights, commercial and secured transactions, and general civil litigation. Ms. Weber has been published in the UTA Quarterly for the United Trustees Association, DSNews (formerly REO Magazine) and AWL Link. She has previously lectured on creditors' rights issues. Ms. Weber earned her B.A. degree from the University of Evansville and her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan, Kansas, American and Johnson County bar associations, The Missouri Bar and the Association for Women Lawyers. RONALD S. WEISS is a partner in the Kansas City law firm of Berman, DeLeve, Kuchan & Chapman, L.C. Mr. Weiss wrote the chapter on general executions in The Missouri Bar Handbook and Attachments on Debtor/Creditors' Rights, and the chapter on bankruptcy in The Missouri Bar Practical Skills Handbook. He also is a contributing writer to The Missouri Bar Bankruptcy Practice Handbook. Mr. Weiss practices in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He has been a lecturer for The Missouri Bar seminars and for the National Association of Credit Management in the Kansas City Bar Young Lawyers Trial Practice Program. Mr. Weiss has served as chair of the Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute, and is a member of The Missouri Bar, the American Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the American Judicature Society, the Commercial Law League of America and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Missouri.
