JULIE R. BURKETT is principal of Burkett Law Firm, LLC, where she practices in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury, serious automobile accidents and injuries, social security and private disability, and consumer law. She earned her B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri at St. Louis and her J.D. degree from St. Louis University. Ms. Burkett is a member of The Missouri Bar, the American Association for Justice, and the National Association of Consumer Advocates. She is admitted to practice in Missouri and for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri. STEVEN D. RINEBERG is an attorney with Maune, Raichle, Hartley, French & Mudd, LLC, where he focuses his practice on plaintiffs' medical mesothelioma litigation. For nine years, Mr. Rineberg practiced in the areas of plaintiffs' medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death and workers' compensation. He has presented at the lecture "Picture This! Making Your Case with PowerPoint" sponsored by The Missouri Bar (2004, 2006). Among Mr. Rineberg's published works is Twisted Currents: Navigating Through Corporate Venue in Missouri and the Quest to Simplify its Construction, as well as Noting the Absence: The Dilemma of Corporate Venue in Missouri with Respect to Foreign Corporations When Specific Statutes Fail to Define Residence, which he cowrote. In 2006, he earned The Missouri Bar David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award. Mr. Rineberg is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the St. Louis Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He is admitted to practice in the states of Missouri and Illinois, and before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri. Mr. Rineberg earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Western Illinois University and his J.D. degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was a staff editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal and the recipient of the Excellence Award in Legal Research and Writing. ANDREW D. RYAN is a shareholder of Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard P.C., and is the products liability practice group leader. Mr. Ryan has successfully tried cases to judges and juries in state and federal courts throughout Missouri and Southern Illinois, both as lead trial counsel and as the second chair attorney. He also has argued in the appellate courts of Missouri and Illinois, including an appearance before the Missouri Supreme Court. Mr. Ryan has represented both manufacturers and distributors of automobiles, industrial equipment, recreational vehicles, medical devices and other products. He also has defended motor carriers in cases involving the condition of tractor-trailers and alleged violations of federal motor carrier regulations. Mr. Ryan's experience further includes mass tort litigation defense involving EPA Superfund Sites, welding consumables, asbestos and pharmaceutical products. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.
