PETER N. LERITZ is a partner in the law firm of Leritz, Plunkert & Bruning, P.C., where he practices in the areas of personal injury, construction litigation, insurance coverage, fire insurance, subrogation, products liability, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, and business litigation. Mr. Leritz has more than 15 years of expertise in insurance law. He earned his B.S. degree from St. Louis University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from St. Louis University. Mr. Leritz served as law clerk to the Honorable Edward L. Filippine, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri. He also has served as public defender for the city of Brentwood, Missouri, and as the former secretary of the Brentwood, Missouri Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Leritz is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, The Missouri Bar, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Home Builders Association of Greater St. Louis Legislative Policy Committee. JAMES C. OWEN is a partner at the law office of McCarthy, Leonard, Kaemmerer, Owen, McGovern & Striler, L.C. He has been practicing law since 1981 and currently practices in insurance insolvency, reinsurance and commercial litigation. Mr. Owen earned his B.A. degree, with honors, and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, St. Louis County Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, the Missouri Trial Lawyers Association and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He also is admitted to practice for the New York State Bar Association. ANDREW D. RYAN is a shareholder of Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard P.C., and is the products liability practice group leader. Mr. Ryan has successfully tried cases to judges and juries in state and federal courts throughout Missouri and Southern Illinois, both as lead trial counsel and as the second chair attorney. He also has argued in the appellate courts of Missouri and Illinois, including an appearance before the Missouri Supreme Court. Mr. Ryan has represented both manufacturers and distributors of automobiles, industrial equipment, recreational vehicles, medical devices and other products. He also has defended motor carriers in cases involving the condition of tractor-trailers and alleged violations of federal motor carrier regulations. Mr. Ryan's experience further includes mass tort litigation defense involving EPA Superfund Sites, welding consumables, asbestos and pharmaceutical products. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. Mr. Ryan is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers. MICHAEL L. YOUNG is an attorney in the St. Louis law firm of HeplerBroom LLC. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri. Mr. Young earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Washington University and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, valedictorian, from St. Louis University. He also has earned the excellence award for commercial transactions, business associations, health care provider liability, legal profession and civil procedure II. Mr. Young is a former staff member for the St. Louis University Law Journal (2000-2001). He was selected as Best Student Work in Volume 45 of the St. Louis University Law Journal. He is a member of The Missouri Bar.
