GAIL BERKOWITZ is a partner at the law firm of Berkowitz, Cook & Gondring. Ms. Berkowitz focuses her practice on family law in Missouri and Kansas. She has extensive experience handling complex matrimonial matters, business valuations and tracing of assets, division of property, child custody, modification of orders, antenuptial agreements, and appellate practice. Ms. Berkowitz is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association and the Missouri Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She earned her B.S. degree from Washington University and her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. JOSEPH W. BOOTH is an attorney at the Law Offices of Joseph W. Booth, where he works as counsel and as an arbitrator. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Washburn School of Law, lecturing on collaborative law. Mr. Booth's practice includes family law, arbitration, adoption, surrogate parenting contracts and appellate practice. He lectures nationwide to private practice attorneys, as well as military lawyers on family law issues, including property valuations, child custody, child support and litigation. Mr. Booth earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Ottawa University, his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Washburn School of Law, and his master's degree from St. Paul's School of Theology. He is on drafting committees of the Uniform Laws Commission (formally NCCUSL) as the ABA liaison, drafting the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA) and developing a Uniform Statute on Parental Relocation. Mr. Booth is a member of the Publications Board of the American Bar Association Family Law Section; he published "A Guide for Assisting Military Families with the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA)," Family Law Quarterly (Summer 2009); and he is a contributing writer for the Matthew Bender Project for the Texas Family Law Handbook. He also is a contributing writer to two editions of the Administrative Manual for Nurse-Midwifery Services, and provides legal advice and training to the ACNM and their members. Mr. Booth is a member of the Earl O'Connor Inns of Court, and a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and The Missouri Bar. Mr. Booth is the past chair of the Child Support Committee and is chair for the long-range planning for the American Bar Association Family Law Section. He is licensed to practice before the state and federal bars of Kansas and Missouri, as well as the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. LARRY V. SWALL is executive director of M.A.R.C.H., Inc., (Mediation Achieving Results for Children) and a family attorney in Liberty, Missouri, with Swall Roffmann & Young, P.C. His private practice is concentrated in areas of family law and domestic relations, including domestic mediation. Mr. Swall is a member of The Missouri Bar (chair, Family Law Section; member, Family Law Legislative Review Committee; member, CLE Committee), the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (Family Law Section; Juvenile Law Committee) and the Clay County Bar Association. He was planning chair for The Missouri Bar Annual Family Law Conference for seven years beginning in 2000. Mr. Swall is the immediate past president and founding member of the Missouri Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section and a general member of Association of Conflict Resolution. He was formerly a professor with Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, where he taught in areas of law, including family law, as well as in the Department of Philosophy; and at Maple Woods Community College, Kansas City, Missouri, in the Department of Social Science, Philosophy. Mr. Swall earned his J.D. degree from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.A. degree from San Diego State University.
