JOHN T. BANJAK is president and general counsel of Insight Title Company, L.L.C. He has previously worked as president and general counsel for two title agencies, and as regional underwriting counsel for a national title insurance underwriter. Mr. Banjak also served as senior vice president and general counsel for Pulaski Bank before joining Insight Title Company, L.L.C. Prior to entering the title insurance field, he worked as a private attorney and as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Missouri from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Banjak is licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri, and is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He lectures frequently on real estate and title-related matters, including on behalf of National Business Institute, the Missouri Land Title Association, and The Missouri Bar. He has previously taught real estate law as an associate instructor for the St. Louis Community College District. Mr. Banjak earned his B.S. degree from Indiana University, and his J.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis. ADAM R. LORENZ is an attorney with the law firm Curtis, Heinz, Garrett & O'Keefe, P.C., where he focuses his practice in the areas of real estate, land title litigation and commercial litigation. He is a member of the St. Louis County Bar Association (Executive Committee), and is an associate article editor for the American Bar Association real estate litigation newsletter. Mr. Lorenz has lectured to various legal and real estate professionals on title and real estate matters. He is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the American and St. Louis County bar associations. Mr. Lorenz earned his B.A. degree from Webster University, and his J.D. degree from Washington University . MARYANNE NEWMAN is a principal in The Newman Law Firm. A 1982 graduate of St. Louis University law School, Ms. Newman has been in private practice since 1987 after serving as in-house counsel for two of St. Louis' largest title insurance companies. She concentrates her practice mainly in real estate law, business/corporate law, estate planning/probate law and related litigation. Over the past few years, Ms. Newman has been involved in more than $500 million in commercial real estate transactions and represents individuals and businesses in buying, selling, leasing, and financing matters. She is a member of local and state bar associations and has been a speaker and has published articles and materials on real estate and business topics for these organizations as well.
