HON. JAMES B. FLOREY is the chief judge of the 6th Judicial District Court, St. Louis County - Virginia Courthouse. Judge Florey was appointed o the bench January 22, 1999, by Governor Arne Carlson. He was then elected in 2000 and 2006, with his current term expiring in January 2013. HON. DALE O. HARRIS is a district court judge with the 6th Judicial District in St. Louis County. Judge Harris was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty in 2010 and his current term expires January of 2013. In addition, he serves as a judge for the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals. Prior to the bench, Judge Harris served as chief deputy court administration for St. Louis County and assistant St. Louis County attorney for the Civil Division. He is a member of the 11th District Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is an adjunct faculty member at the Fond-du-Lac Tribal Community College. Judge Harris earned his B.M.E. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law. HON. MARK A. MUNGER is a district court judge with the 6th Judicial District Court in St. Louis County - Duluth Courthouse. He was elected to the bench in 1998 and 2004. Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Munger was in private practice with the firm of Clure, Eaton, Butler, Ferguson and Munger. He is a Certified Civil Trial Specialist. Judge Munger is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association (member, Board of Governors) and the 11th District Bar Association (member, Board of Governors). Additionally, he is president of the Duluth Trial Lawyers Association. Judge Munger earned his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota at Duluth and his J.D. degree, with honors, from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. GARY J. PAGLIACCETTI is a district court judge with the 6th Judicial District Court, St. Louis County - Virginia Courthouse. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Rudy Perpick in 1989. Judge Pagliaccetti was elected in 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. From 2000 to 2004, he served as chief judge of the 6th Judicial District Court and was assistant chief judge from 1996 to 2000. Prior to his appointment to bench, he was an assistant public defender for the 6th Judicial District and prior to that, he was in the private practice of law for six years. Judge Pagliaccetti is an instructor at Mesabi Community College and received the Minnesota Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates Judge of the Year award in 2007. He is a member of the Minnesota State and Range bar associations and the Board on Judicial Standards. Additionally, Judge Pagliaccetti was vice chair of the Conference of Chief Judges from 1998 to 2002. He earned his B.A. degree from St. John's University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law. HON. MARK M. STARR is a district court judge with the 6th Judicial District Court in St. Louis County. He was appointed to the bench in 2004 after serving as assistant county attorney for the St. Louis County Attorney's Office. Judge Starr is a member of the Supreme Court Juvenile Protection Rules Committee and is past president of the Range Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. HON. HEATHER L. SWEETLAND is a district court judge with the 6th Judicial District Court in St. Louis County - Duluth Courthouse. Judge Sweetland was appointed to the bench on February 2, 1996, elected in 1998 and re-elected in 2004. She is a frequent CLE lecturer on family law and evidence. Judge Sweetland is a member of the American and Minnesota State bar associations, the 11th District Bar Association (member, Judicial Administration Committee and Family Law Committee), the Minnesota Women Lawyers, the American Judges Association, the Minnesota District Judges Association, the National Women Judges Association and the Rules of Criminal Procedure Committee for the Supreme Court. She earned her B.S.T. degree from Mankato State College and her J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. KELLY J. THIMM is a circuit court judge for Douglas County in Wisconsin. He was elected in 2009 and prior to that served as assistant district attorney from 1997 to 2009. Judge Thimm earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. HON. DALE ALBERT WOLF is a district court judge with the 6th Judicial District Court in Carlton County. He was appointed to the trial court bench as judicial officer for Carlton County on July 5, 1978. He then was then appointed judge of County Court in July 1982 by Governor Al Quie. Judge Wolf was elected as district court judge for the 6th District in 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. He has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota at Duluth since 1979. Additionally, he has served as a faculty member for a number of seminars sponsored by the Supreme Court's Office of Continuing Education. Judge Wolf is a member of the National Council of Juvenile & Family Court Judges, the Minnesota District Judges Association and local and state bar associations. He also is a board member of the Fond du Lac Tribal College Foundation. Judge Wolf earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota at Duluth and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. MODERATOR - DONALD C. ERICKSON practices in the areas of labor and employment law; business litigation; workers' compensation; and alternate dispute resolution with the Duluth law firm of Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A. Mr. Erickson also served as an administrative law judge for the State of Minnesota, Office of Administrative Hearings from 1994 to 2003. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota; Wisconsin; the United States Supreme Court; the United States Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit and 7th Circuit; the United States Court of Military Appeals; the United States District Court, District of Minnesota; and the United States District Court, Western District of Wisconsin. Mr. Erickson earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Luther College, his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota and was an honors graduate from the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin.
