MICHAEL B. FISCO is an attorney in the law firm of Faegre & Benson LLP, in Minneapolis, and is chair of the firm's finance and restructuring practice. Mr. Fisco has been involved in some of the most complex bankruptcy and reorganization cases in the country. His practice focuses primarily on corporate debt restructurings, bankruptcy and related litigation matters. Mr. Fisco has extensive experience representing indenture trustees and investors in restructuring defaulted debt securities. He has negotiated, filed and confirmed numerous creditor plans. Mr. Fisco has also represented official committees of unsecured creditors in Delaware and Minnesota. As part of his restructuring practice, he represents investment funds acquiring distressed companies and assets both in and outside of a formal bankruptcy proceeding. Mr. Fisco works with clients to develop and implement investment strategies, including capital structure alternatives, corporate governance matters and management incentive plans. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree, with honors, from Hamline University School of Law. Mr. Fisco is a member of the Minnesota State (member, Bankruptcy Section), American and Federal bar associations. STEVEN M. GRAFFUNDER is a shareholder with the law firm of Henningson & Snoxell Ltd., where he practices in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, construction law, banking law and mechanics' liens. He is a Minnesota State Bar Association board-certified real property law specialist. Mr. Graffunder received his B.S.B. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree from Hamline University School of Law. He has lectured for attorney, construction and other groups on topics within his areas of practice. He is a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County bar associations. JOEL A. HILGENDORF is an attorney at Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, in both the real estate and community association practice groups. Mr. Hilgendorf's clients include banks, developers, commercial and residential property owners, condominium and townhome associations, and businesses and individuals. He has been certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Board Certified Real Property Specialist. His practice includes counsel and representation in the areas of real estate law and litigation, community association law, foreclosure law and creditor's remedies, and commercial and residential real estate transactions. Mr. Hilgendorf is a frequent speaker and presenter on real estate law issues. He also routinely writes articles for real estate industry publications and trade journals. Minnesota Law & Politics has recognized him as a "Rising Star," named among the top 2.5 percent of young attorneys in the state of Minnesota. Mr. Hilgendorf is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in Minnesota, and is a member of the Real Property sections of the Hennepin County and Minnesota State bar associations. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. FREDERICK W. KNAAK is a partner in the law firm of Knaak & Kryzer, P.A., where his 30-year practice has included real estate, zoning, municipal law, public and election law, and land use. From 1996 through 2000, his practice also included responsibilities as an appointed Contract Administrative Law Judge for the State of Minnesota. Regularly seen by public television viewers as a political analyst on the local Almanac program, he was, in addition to his practice, in public service in the Minnesota Senate for ten years, where he was minority Floor Leader, and was recently a vice chairman of the Minnesota Electronic Real Estate Recording Task Force. His broad background includes substantial trial and appellate litigation experience in state and federal courts. Mr. Knaak and his firm have served as legal counsel in Minnesota for a variety of cities, including Fridley, Lake Elmo, Maplewood and Newport, Minnesota. He has served as local counsel on a number of major constitutional cases before state and federal courts, including as legal counsel to the Minnesota Secretary of State in redistricting litigation. He is licensed in Colorado, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Mr. Knaak earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from St. John's University and his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.
