SUSIE McGREGOR-HUYER has been involved in healthcare since 1990, first as a paramedic, then as a nurse. Ms. McGregor-Huyer completed her BSN degree in 1998 and her MSN degree in 2001, gaining significant experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings in a variety of roles. In 1993, she began hospice work, where she eventually moved into leadership roles, including four years of administration work. Ms. McGregor-Huyer has been active as an affiliate faculty member teaching undergraduate and graduate community nursing online for four years. Her years of nursing experience have currently led to consulting, where she now provides legal nurse consulting services and nursing education consulting services in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Ms. McGregor-Huyer's legal nurse consulting practice specializes in products liability, personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases, where she provides attorneys and their team with a "medical" interpretation and perspective on their cases. She holds a certification as a legal nurse consultant, and is a hospice and palliative care nurse. Ms. McGregor-Huyer is active in the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and in the American Holistic Nurses Association. PATRICK PERSONS is a paralegal in the Minneapolis law firm of Lommen, Abdo, Cole, King & Stageberg, P.A. Mr. Persons brings 23 years of paralegal and investigative experience to the firm. Prior to joining Lommen, Abdo, Cole, King & Stageberg, P.A., he was the president of Litigation Support Group, Inc., which provided investigative and paralegal services to personal injury attorneys throughout Minnesota. Mr. Persons is a Minnesota Licensed Private Investigator and has undertaken and managed hundreds of hours of investigation. His work is focused in the areas of medical malpractice, product liability and industrial accidents, and numerous other personal injury areas, including car accidents and railroad accidents. Mr. Persons has state and federal court trial preparation experience, having assisted in numerous trials which resulted in verdicts in excess of a million dollars. His trial background includes extensive use of electronic case management systems, including Summation and Trial Director. In addition to experience in personal injury, legal malpractice and medical negligence, Mr. Persons has significant complex litigation experience, including asbestos litigation, litigation concerning building and construction disasters, and real estate. He is a member of the Minnesota Association of Justice and the American Association for Justice. JENNIFER THORUP is a paralegal with Lord & Faris Law Office, with offices in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Ms. Thorup joined the personal injury law office in 2006 but has worked at law firms for more than 13 years. Her work includes interviewing clients and experts, research, gathering and organizing medical records, preparing documents and more. Ms. Thorup earned her B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota.
