LAURA A. DANIELSON brings more than 20 years of experience to the litigation support technology arena. Ms. Danielson's experience includes former litigation paralegal, project management, operations management, consulting and overall executive business and financial management in litigation support services. She has participated in more than 90 trials in federal and state courts around the country. Ms. Danielson has experience working in all areas of litigation including with and for corporations, law firms, and litigation support technology companies. She has recently joined Digital Litigation Solutions as a litigation consultant and a partner in the company. Digital Litigation Solutions is focused on providing law firms and corporations professional consulting services in the areas of trial presentation and trial support, records management, litigation readiness, E-Discovery consulting, E-Discovery technology consulting, project scoping, project design, project management on large litigation projects and best practices in E-Discovery and litigation support. Ms. Danielson is a published author and speaker on various topics including: records management, managing technology for large complex litigation matters, trial preparation and support, E-Discovery and E-Discovery best practices, implementing in-house tools for litigation support processing and best practices in the area of litigation support. She is very involved in the litigation support community and is considered an industry expert. Ms. Danielson is a member of the Minnesota Paralegal Association, and the chairperson of the Minnesota Paralegal Associates Litigation and Technology Section. She is a founding member of Women In E-Discovery in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter and is currently Chapter Director and a member of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals. Ms. Danielson also has served on the Board of Directors for Minnesota Association of Litigation Support Professionals. STEPHEN P. LAITINEN is a partner with Larson King, LLP, where he concentrates his civil and commercial practice on the representation of clients involved in complex commercial, professional liability, construction defect and product liability disputes. He has tried cases to verdict in state, federal and administrative courts, and has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the country. Mr. Laitinen is chair of the Commercial Litigation Committee and a voting member of the Amicus Curie Committee for the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association. He is a frequent regional and national speaker on complex commercial litigation issues. Mr. Laitinen recently wrote "Social Media - A New 'Must Use' Tool in Litigation," with Hilary Loynes, August 2010, FOR THE DEFENSE, as well as "Civil Juries and the Gordian Knot of Complex Litigation," with Jennifer Lurken, July 2005, FOR THE DEFENSE, and "Destroying the Opposing Expert's Credibility," with David Classen, September 2007, FOR THE DEFENSE. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota; the U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit; and the Eastern District for U.S. District Court, District of Wisconsin. Mr. Laitinen is a member of the Minnesota State, Ramsey County and Hennepin County bar associations, the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his J.D. degree from Drake University. SHIRLEY J. MUNSON , RP, is a litigation paralegal with Lindquist & Vennum PLLP. She is part of the real estate, construction litigation and corporate practices group of the firm. Ms. Munson has given seminars at Inver Hills Community College on employment law and is an adjunct faculty member for Inver Hills Community College, where she teaches employment law, litigation and trial practice, and contracts in the paralegal program. She is a current member of the Minnesota Paralegal Association (paralegal education liaison committee chair, 2009) and a Registered Paralegal through the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA). Ms. Munson earned her B.A. degree from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, her J.D. degree from Hamline Law School and her master's degree from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. SYLVIA NAIM is the department head of Meagher and Geer, P.L.L.P.'s paralegals and legal administrative assistants. She is responsible for the high-level supervision and direction of paralegal services firm wide and the secretarial services for the Minneapolis office. Ms. Naim is primarily responsible for the functions associated with staffing, performance, productivity, and utilization of the firm's paralegals, case assistants, legal administrative assistants and file clerks. She also is a seasoned litigation paralegal, with more than 14 years of experience. Ms. Naim is concentrated in the areas of complex litigation involving mass torts/toxic torts, products liability and personal injury. She has extensive trial experience, both on the federal and state court levels. Ms. Naim has assisted with several jury trials and has been involved in multi-million dollar product liability and mass torts/toxic tort cases, including pharmaceutical products, medical device, and major industrial explosions and fires for various commercial and individual clients. She also has extensive experience with Summation, CaseMap and Trial Director, providing valuable litigation and trial support, as well as experience with electronic discovery. Ms. Naim also is a member of the firm's E-Lit Group, providing paralegal practice support and knowledge. She is actively involved in the legal community both locally and internationally. Ms. Naim is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors as secretary-treasurer for the International Paralegal Management Association (IPMA) and co-chair of the Minneapolis Chapter of IPMA. She also has served as regional vice president of Central, as well as co-chair of the 2010 Annual Conference Program Committee for IPMA. Ms. Naim also has served as committee chairs and a board member for the Minnesota Paralegal Association. She also is a Registered Paralegal (RP), through the National Federation of Paralegal Associations' (NFPA). ROBIN R. OLSON is the legal staff supervisor at Patterson Thuente Christensen Pedersen, P.A., a law firm specializing in intellectual property. Her role includes supervising the firm's paralegals and legal administrative assistants, and maintaining a full case load for the attorneys. Ms. Olson earned her B.S. degree from Moorhead State University and her Master of Science degree from Colorado Technical University. Active in the legal community locally and internationally, she has served as co-chair of the Litigation Section and Student/Paralegal Educator Liaison for the Minnesota Paralegal Association and has served on several committees for the International Paralegal Management Association (IPMA), including the Resources Committee, Paralegal Educational Program Advisory Committee, Speaker Outreach Committee and ABA Site Visit Task Force. Ms. Olson also has served as vice president of Outreach for IPMA and is currently the co-chair of the Minneapolis Chapter of the IPMA. She is a frequent speaker at local schools that offer Paralegal Studies programs and she assists with site visits for the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Paralegals.
