HON. MARGARET A. DALY was appointed to the bench in 2000 and is currently a Judge with the Hennepin County Courthouse. Prior to being appointed, Judge Daly was an Assistant Hennepin County Attorney and referee for the 4th Judicial District. She earned her B.A. degree from College of St. Catherine and her J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. MARY E. DuFRESNE is a Judge with the Hennepin County Courthouse. Prior to being appointed, Judge DuFresne was an attorney with Bassford, Lockart, Truesdell & Briggs, P.A. She is a member of the Minnesota District Judges Association. Judge DuFresne is Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the Minnesota Bar Association and she has presented at numerous continuing legal education seminars. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. GREGORY G. GALLER is a Judge for the Washington County Courthouse. He was appointed by Governor Jesse Ventura. Judge Galler's current term expires in January 2015. He is the past president of the Washington County and 19th District Bar Association, and past chair of the 19th District Ethics Committee. Judge Galler earned his B.A degree, with honors, from Western Illinois University, his M.A. degree, high honors, from Western Illinois University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. HON. JOHN C. HOFFMAN is assistant Chief Judge for the Washington County Courthouse. He is District Court Judge for the state of Minnesota. Judge Hoffman previously was a partner with Terpstra, Black, Brandell & Hoffman. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Judge Hoffman is a member of the Minnesota District Judges Association, Minnesota District Judges Association, 10th District Child Support Magistrate (chair), Labor/Management Committee 10th District (chair), Professionalism Committee State Bar Association and 10th Judicial District Bar Association. HON. DAVID L. KNUTSON is a Judge with Dakota County Courthouse. He was in private practice of law as a partner in several law firms in Apple Valley and Burnsville, Minnesota, 1986-2004. Judge Knutson previously was a Minnesota State Senator - District 37. He is a member of the Minnesota District Judges Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, 1st District Bar Association, 8th District Bar Association and Dakota County Bar Association. Judge Knutson earned his B.A. degree from St. Olaf College and his J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. DALE B. LINDMAN was appointed to the bench in October 1998 and is currently a Judge with the Ramsey County Courthouse. Prior to being appointed, Judge Lindman was a trial attorney for Mahoney Dougherty and Mahoney P.A., Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a trial attorney for 26 years during which time he tried well in excess of 50 jury trials to conclusion; practiced in the areas of personal injury, products liability, commercial litigation and construction litigation; and was a managing partner of the law firm from 1976 to 1998. Judge Lindman was the 2nd Judicial District's representative on the Minnesota District Judges Association (MDJA) Board of Directors from 2002 to present. He is a member of the Warren E. Burger Inn of Court. Judge Lindman earned his B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. JOHN R. McBRIDE was appointed to the bench in January 2003 and is currently a Judge with the Chisago County Courthouse. Judge McBride is a Certified Civil Trial Specialist with the Minnesota State Bar Association and he received his Certificate in Certified Civil Mediation Skills Training. He was vice president, senior shareholder and member of the board of directors for Lommen, Nelson, Cole, and Stageberg, P.A. Judge McBride earned his B.S. degree from the University of Missouri and his J.D. degree from Hamline University School of Law. HON. KATHRYN D. MESSERICH is a Judge with the Dakota County Courthouse. She was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty. Judge Messerich has lectured numerous times for local and national audiences in addition to conducting professional presentations on civil litigation, insurance coverage, legal ethics, medical privacy, professional disciplinary matters, alternative dispute resolution, professional liability litigation and civil commitment. She was a previous shareholder with Bassford, Lochart, Truesdell & Briggs, P.A., a previous associate general counsel for litigation with Allina Health System and previous shareholder with Halleland, Lewis, Nilan, Sipkins & Johnson, P.A. Judge Messerich is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, (Certified Civil Trial Specialist), State Bar of Wisconsin, Minnesota Women Lawyers, Minnesota Board of Continuing Legal Education Board Member, Minnesota District Judges Association, Civil Jury Instruction Guide Committee, Vice Chair Security Committee and 1st Judicial District Executive Committee. She earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Northern Michigan University, her M.S. degree from the University of Minnesota and her J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law. HON. JANET N. POSTON is a Judge with the Hennepin County Courthouse. Prior to being appointed, Judge Poston was a law clerk for Hon. Deborah Hedlund and a district court referee. She is a member of the Executive Committee, Civil Committee and Criminal Committee. Judge Poston earned her B.S. degree, with distinction, and J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. HON. MARTHA M. SIMONETT is a Judge with the Dakota County Courthouse. She was appointed by Governor Arne Carlson. Judge Simonett is a member of the Civil Jury Reform Task Force, Civil Litigation Governing Council and Supreme Court Committee on General Rules of Practice. She also is a member of the Minnesota State, Dakota County and 1st District bar associations. Judge Simonett earned her B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. MODERATOR - WILLIAM M. DRINANE is an attorney with Hanson Lulic & Krall, LLC, where he practices in the areas of auto, products liability, personal injury, property damage, fraud and coverage issues and subrogation throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has extensive trial experience in both civil and criminal cases. Mr. Drinane also is active in alternative dispute resolution and serves as an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He earned his B.S. degree form the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the William Mitchell College of Law. Mr. Drinane is an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law. He is a member of the Ramsey County and Minnesota State bar associations, and the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.
