KEVIN J. DUNLEVY is a partner in the Minneapolis law firm of Beisel & Dunlevy, P.A., where he practices in the areas of real estate and creditors' remedies. He is a real property law specialist, certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. Dunlevy is experienced in real estate litigation, transactions, foreclosures, evictions and other creditors' remedies. He is a frequent presenter at seminars for attorneys, title companies, realtors and lenders and he has written numerous articles and publications for professional and trade groups. MICHAEL B. FISCO is an attorney in the law firm of Faegre & Benson LLP, in Minneapolis, and is chair of the firm's finance and restructuring practice. Mr. Fisco has been involved in some of the most complex bankruptcy and reorganization cases in the county. His practice focuses primarily on corporate debt restructurings, bankruptcy and related litigation matters. Mr. Fisco has extensive experience representing indenture trustees and investors in restructuring defaulted debt securities. He has negotiated, filed and confirmed numerous creditor plans. Mr. Fisco has also represented official committees of unsecured creditors in Delaware and Minnesota. As part of his restructuring practice, he represents investment funds acquiring distressed companies and assets both in and outside of a formal bankruptcy proceeding. Mr. Fisco works with clients to develop and implement investment strategies, including capital structure alternatives, corporate governance matters and management incentive plans. KLEIN is a member of Maslon's Financial Services Group at Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP. He has extensive experience representing banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions in all forms of commercial financing transactions, including large loan syndications. These include the areas of general commercial lending, asset-based lending, mezzanine/second lien loans, real estate term and construction financing, indenture trustee representation, project finance, equipment leasing and chattel paper warehouse financing. Mr. Klein also has served as lead counsel on numerous transactions involving the structuring and documenting of syndicated secured loans, management contracts, and other commercial agreements with Indian tribes located in the U.S. and Canada. His practice further includes significant representation of lenders in workouts and foreclosures, as well as creditor representation in bankruptcy; workout and bankruptcy representation of indenture trustees in defaulted public and private debt issuances; and representation of bank holding companies and owners of financial institutions in connection with a wide range of regulatory matters, including change in bank control applications. Mr. Klein also is a member of Maslon's Real Estate Group and has represented owners in all aspects of commercial real estate, including acquisition, leasing and financing matters. FREDERICK W. KNAAK is a partner in the law firm of Knaak & Associates, P.A., where his 30-year practice has included real estate, zoning, municipal law, public and election law, and land use. From 1996 through 2000, his practice also included responsibilities as an appointed Contract Administrative Law Judge for the state of Minnesota. Regularly seen by public television viewers as a political analyst on the local "Almanac" program, Mr. Knaak was, in addition to his practice, in public service in the Minnesota Senate for ten years, where he was minority floor leader, and was recently a vice chairman of the Minnesota Electronic Real Estate Recording Task Force. His broad background includes substantial trial and appellate litigation experience in state and federal courts. Mr. Knaak and his firm have served as legal counsel in Minnesota for a variety of cities including Fridley, Lake Elmo, Maplewood and Newport. He has served as local counsel on a number of major constitutional cases before state and federal courts, including as legal counsel to the Minnesota Secretary of State in redistricting litigation. AMY J. SWEDBERG is a partner in Maslon's Financial Services Group at Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP. Her practice focuses primarily on the representation of banks, indenture trustees and commercial creditors in default situations. Ms. Swedberg also assists asset-based lenders in preparing and negotiating commercial loan documentation. She earned her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. WILLIAM P. WASSWEILER is a partner in the Minneapolis firm of Lindquist & Vennum PLLP, where he is in the firm's Bankruptcy and Creditors' Remedies Practice Group. He represents banks and other secured lenders, mortgage companies, equipment-finance companies, indenture trustees, unsecured creditors and lessors. Mr. Wassweiler's areas of experience include bankruptcy and workouts; creditors' rights litigation, such as breach of contract, replevin, garnishment and other state law remedies; UCC and other real estate litigation; commercial and consumer foreclosures and lease disputes; and consumer credit litigation involving truth-in-lending laws and other federal and state consumer statutes. Mr. Wassweiler earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Before earning his J.D. degree, he was a certified public accountant for several years at a large international accounting firm. Mr. Wassweiler is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association (immediate past president, Bankruptcy Section; member and past chair, Pro Bono Committee) the American Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
