BENSON J. BARR is an owner and member of the Law Offices of Gourwitz and Barr, PLLC, located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. His practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning, real estate, and business law and planning. Mr. Barr is a practice consultant for the Midwest Transaction Guide, a 14 volume set of books published by Matthew Bender & Company, Inc. (a member of the LexisNexis Group). He has written several law journal articles and participates as a lecturer at various professional seminars, including speaking for The Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Barr has taught the estate planning course at Oakland University in its personal financial planning program. He is a member of the Technology Advisory Board of the Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Barr has been a member of the Commercial Arbitrator Panel of the American Arbitration Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Metro Detroit. Mr. Barr earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Wayne State University. In 1988, Mr. Barr also received the designation of certified financial planner GREGORY C. HAMILTON is a shareholder with Hamilton & Associates, where he specializes in the areas of estate planning, asset protection and business succession planning. Mr. Hamilton is a speaker on estate planning and business succession issues to lawyers, doctors, C.P.A.s, insurance agents and money managers. He received his B.S. degree from Michigan State University; his M.S. degree from Wayne State University; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Detroit College of Law. Mr. Hamilton is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Real Property and Trust Section) and National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, where he lectures on issues of estate planning. He is a past president of the Wayne County Probate Bar Association, past chairman for the Bingham Family YMCA and a member of the National Association of Christian Financial Consultants. ROBERT B. LABE is a shareholder with Williams, Williams, Rattner & Plunkett, P.C., in Birmingham, Michigan, where he practices in the areas of business law, business planning, estate planning, estate and trust administration, probate, and tax. Mr. Labe is a frequent lecturer and author for topics pertaining to his areas of practice. His publications and lectures include "What's New in Estate and Gift Tax Law," State Bar of Michigan Elder Law & Disability Section 9th Annual Spring Conference (March 2011); "Considerations in Planning for the Incapacitated and Terminally Ill Client," Michigan Financial Planners Association Annual Symposium (November 9, 2009); and "Buy-Sell Agreements for the Closely Held Business," First Annual Closely Held Business Law Institute, Institute of Continuing Legal Education (November, 2006). Mr. Labe is a past chairperson of the Oakland County Bar Association Probate, Estate, and Trust Committee and Business Law Committee. Mr. Labe serves on the Institute of Continuing Legal Education Advisory Board and is an officer and director of the American Jewish Committee's Michigan Chapter.
ELIZABETH LUCKENBACH is a partner in the Southfield office of Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss, and a member of the firm's estate planning/probate and litigation practice groups, concentrating in probate litigation, special needs planning and elder law. Ms. Luckenbach is a frequent speaker on topics such as elder law, special needs planning and estate planning, and probate. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. In 2005, Ms. Luckenbach was featured in the Michigan Lawyer's Weekly "Leaders in the Law" section as one of five "up and coming lawyers" in the state. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a fellow of the State Bar Foundation. Ms. Luckenbach is also a trustee and vice-president of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and a member of the Oakland County Bar Association (member, Probate, Estate and Trust Committee, Membership Committee). She is a fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation, and a member of the Wayne County Probate Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan Elder Law and Advocacy Section and the National Academy of Elder law Attorneys. Ms. Luckenbach earned her B.A. degree from Michigan State University and her J.D. degree from De Paul University College of Law.
