DANIEL J. EDWARDS is an associate with Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, P.A. and is a member of the firm's litigation and real estate practice groups. His practice focuses on a wide range of real estate litigation matters, including commercial disputes, transactions and contracts. Mr. Edwards regularly represents property owners in disputes over boundaries, title defects, easements and other real estate issues. He is member of the Maine State and Massachusetts bar associations, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, District of Maine. Mr. Edwards earned his B.A. degree, with high distinction, from the University of Maine and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Maine School of Law. ROBERT S. HARK is an attorney practicing in Portland, Maine. He has extensive experience in all aspects of municipal, real estate and corporate law. In more than 30 years of practicing law, Mr. Hark has represented clients with real estate transactional matters and litigation. He is known to possess an intimate knowledge of Maine law regarding roads, both public and private and "in-between," and for his broad expertise in real estate law and litigation, including both trial and appellate work, having argued many cases in the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Hark has been president of the Androscoggin County Bar Association, and is a member of the Cumberland County, Maine State and American bar associations, and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is a member of the Commercial Arbitration Panel of the American Arbitration Association and is a public arbitrator for NASD. Mr. Hark served for many years on the Maine Bar's Professional Ethics Commission. He earned his bachelor's degree from Colby College and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. GLENN ISRAEL is a shareholder at Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, P.A., one of northern New England's largest law firms, with more than 85 attorneys in Portland and Augusta, Maine; and Manchester, New Hampshire. He concentrates his practice in litigation and arbitration of business disputes concentrating on labor, employment and real estate cases. Mr. Israel frequently represents clients in proceedings before state and federal courts and agencies, as well as in private arbitration proceedings under the AAA rules. A portion of his practice also consists of serving as a mediator in real estate matters. Mr. Israel is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School, a member of The Order of The Coif, and a recipient of the Cornelius J. Monaghan award for scholarship and leadership. He also served as executive editor of the Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review. Mr. Israel earned his B.S. degree from Syracuse University. He is admitted to practice in Maine and Massachusetts. DAVID A. SOLEY is the chair of the real estate litigation practice group for Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, P.A., where he concentrates his practice in the area of real estate litigation. He has tried more than 100 real estate and business cases throughout the United States. Mr. Soley has lectured frequently on real estate litigation for the Maine State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association (chair, Trial Practice Committee). In addition, Mr. Soley is the former chair of the Freeport Town Council. He edited the American Bar Association's Business Torts Litigation Handbook. He is the recipient of the American Bar Association Award of Excellence in 2006. Mr. Soley earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Bates College and his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law.
