KEVIN F. BRESS is a managing member in the law firm of Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A., where he practices in the areas of estate administration and planning, trusts and elder law. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore, where he teaches in both the graduate tax program and in the law school in the areas of estate taxation and elder law. Mr. Bress co-authored the books Guiding Those Left Behind in Maryland and A Will Is Not Enough in Maryland. He has served as an expert commentator for Lexis-Nexis. Mr. Bress earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, and both his Master's and J.D degrees from the University of Baltimore. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Attorneys and the Maryland State Bar Association (member, Section on Estates and Trust Law; Section on Elder Law). MICHAEL P. DONNELLY is a principal with Offit Kurman, where he concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate administration, and general corporate and tax matters. He lectures frequently on estate and tax planning matters. Mr. Donnelly has served as an adjunct professor of estate planning and is currently teaching estate planning at the University of Baltimore Law School. He has been a regular lecturer for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc., National Business Institute, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and numerous other organizations. Mr. Donnelly earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Amherst College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland Law School. He previously served as chairman of the Estates and Trusts Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, Inc., past president of the Baltimore Association of Tax Council and past director of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. JILL A. SNYDER is a sole practitioner with the Law Office of Jill A. Snyder, LLC. Her practice is concentrated on trust and estate planning, probate, and small business advisory services. Ms. Snyder provides individuals and families with comprehensive and compassionate estate planning services, including the preparation of various estate planning documents, strategies to reduce or eliminate estate tax liability, and recommendations regarding asset titling, life insurance, and beneficiary designations. She also oversees the administration of decedents' estates from the initial filing of the probate petition to the final distribution of assets to beneficiaries. Additionally, she assists new and existing small business owners by preparing the requisite documents to form or modify their corporate structure, drafting and negotiating agreements to protect against the disclosure of information, and planning for changes in ownership of their businesses under various circumstances. Ms. Snyder is a member of the Estates and Trusts and Elder Law sections of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Estates and Trusts Committee of the Baltimore County Bar Association. She also participates in the Estate and Gift Tax Study Group of the Maryland State Bar Association. She has previously lectured on estate planning to diverse audiences, appeared on public radio, and been published in magazines. Ms. Snyder graduated, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and earned her bachelor's degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
