KEVIN F. BRESS is a managing member in the law firm of Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A., where he practices in the areas of estate administration and planning, trusts and elder law. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore, where he teaches in both the graduate tax program and in the law school in the areas of estate taxation and elder law. Mr. Bress co-authored the books Guiding Those Left Behind in Maryland and A Will Is Not Enough in Maryland. He has served as an expert commentator for Lexis-Nexis. Mr. Bress earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, and both his Master's and J.D degrees from the University of Baltimore. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Attorneys and the Maryland State Bar Association (member, Section on Estates and Trust Law; Section on Elder Law). THOMAS J. GISRIEL is a partner in the law firm of Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A. He has more than 30 years of experience practicing law. Mr. Gisriel practices in the areas of litigation, real estate, municipal law, land use, guardianships and antitrust. He is a former columnist for the Corridor Real Estate Journal and is a frequent speaker to various professional organizations on his areas of expertise. Mr. Gisriel is a former member of the Maryland State Bar Association Committee on Judicial Appointments for Baltimore County and a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (Litigation, Estates and Trusts sections). He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. ELIZABETH A. GREEN is a partner at Franklin & Prokopik, P.C., where she concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and corporate law. She has particular experience in representing individuals, families and fiduciaries in the areas of estate planning and administration, guardianship proceedings, business succession planning as well as planning for families with members who have special needs. Ms. Green has written articles on charitable trusts, changes to the Maryland estate tax and the legal issues raised by the collection and storage of cord-blood. She graduated from George Washington University Law School, where she was an articles editor for the Public Contract Law Journal and on the executive board of the Moot Court. Ms. Green served as the law clerk to Judge Robert I.H. Hammerman, chief judge of the Baltimore City Circuit Court. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections), the Maryland State Bar Association (Estates and Trust Law Section, and Estate (Elder Law Section) and Gift Tax Study Group) and the Baltimore Estate Planning Counsel. Ms. Green also serves as counsel to and is on the board of several local charitable institutions. JOSEPH M. SCHNITZER is a managing member of the Baltimore firm of Schnitzer, Segall, Hymer & Billian, L.L.C., where he practices in the areas of business entities, taxation, estates, trusts and healthcare law. Mr. Schnitzer has lectured for the MICPEL, Maryland Association of CPAs and other business groups on the topics of limited liability companies, the representation of healthcare providers and choice of business entities, and various estate planning topics. He is a contributing writer and editor of Maryland Limited Liability Company Forms and Practice Manual, Data Trace Legal Publishing. Mr. Schnitzer earned his B.S. degree from Towson State University and his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is a certified public accountant in Maryland. Mr. Schnitzer is a member of the Bar Association of Baltimore County, the Maryland State Bar Association (member, Special Joint Committee on Maryland Limited Liability Company Act and Tax Section) and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council.
