JOHN J. DAVIS is a founding partner in the Boston law firm of Pierce, Davis & Perritano, LLP. He is a 1978 cum laude graduate of Tufts University and an active member of the Tufts Alumni Admissions Program. In 1981, Mr. Davis graduated from Boston University School of Law, where he was on the Editorial Board of the Boston University Law Review. Mr. Davis is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court, and in the state courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Mr. Davis concentrates in the defense of municipal liability, employment, law enforcement and civil rights actions, and in the interpretation of liability insurance policies. Mr. Davis was lead defense counsel in Brum v. Town of Dartmouth, 428 Mass. 684 (1999), the landmark Supreme Judicial Court municipal immunity decision, and in Parker v. Hurley, 514 F.3d 87 (1 st Cir.), cert. den., 129 S.Ct. 56 (2008), wherein the First Circuit upheld the right of public schools to use same-sex teaching materials in the classroom. He is a frequent lecturer for MCLE, and has participated as a speaker at the American Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the International Municipal Lawyers Association, the Massachusetts City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and numerous in-house seminars for municipal groups and insurers. ANDRA J. HUTCHINS is a partner with the law firm of Kerstein, Coren & Lichtenstein, LLP, in Wellesley where she concentrates her practice in the areas of education law, family law, employment law and civil litigation. In her education law practice, Ms. Hutchins represents students of all ages in all areas of education law, including special education, school discipline matters, bullying issues, academic issues, student rights, suspensions and expulsions. She attends administrative school meetings, is involved in all aspects of negotiation and litigation of education matters, and advises students and their parents of their rights regarding privacy, due process, services and accommodations. She is an author and has lectured in the area of special education law, has been profiled in TIME Magazine's "Salute to Women in Leadership" feature in 2008 and has been interviewed by Sky Radio. Ms. Hutchins is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts. Ms. Hutchins is a member of the Massachusetts, Boston, Norfolk County and New Hampshire bar associations. ALISIA E. ST. FLORIAN is an attorney at Murphy, Hesse, Toomey and Lehane, LLP, in the firm's Special Education Law Group, representing school districts in special education disputes. Ms. St. Florian received her bachelor's degree from Bates College, her master's degree in education in counseling psychology from Boston University and her juris doctorate, with honors, from Suffolk University Law School. While in law school, Ms. St. Florian was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and published in the Suffolk Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. St. Florian worked for five years as a victim/witness advocate in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Child Abuse Unit, and for seven years in a general civil litigation firm where part of her practice included the representation of children and parents in special education matters. Ms. St. Florian has been appointed by the Norfolk County Juvenile Court to serve as a guardian ad litem/educational advocate and by the Department of Education to serve as an educational surrogate parent.
