EILEEN R. ALLOSSO is a legal nurse consultant with Allosso Consulting Services, Inc. Ms. Allosso also is a nurse practitioner in the Neurology Department of Lahey Clinic. He earned his B.A degree from Clark University and his D.C. degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. DANA J. JOLLY is a legal nurse consultant and Principal of Jolly Consulting, LLC. After earning her B.S.N. degree from Clemson University, she embarked upon a diverse clinical nursing career spanning 20 years. In 2001, Ms. Jolly launched Jolly Consulting, LLC, a national legal consulting firm working with both defense and plaintiff attorneys on all types of medically related litigation. She is recognized as a nurse specialist and expert in the field of legal nurse consulting. Ms. Jolly is active in the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, having served on the national membership and nominating committees and as president of the Central Virginia Chapter. Her latest publication, Evaluation of Surgical and Anesthesia Cases, is featured in the third edition of Principles and Practice of Legal Nurse Consulting. MODERATOR - NANCY A. LEIBE is a registered nurse with Electric Insurance Company, licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with 40 years experience working in the medical field. She is a graduate of Salem Hospital School of Nursing with additional studies at Salem State College. Prior professional positions have included nurse manager of post-surgical units in Massachusetts and in Colorado, as well as clinical staffing positions in a Dialysis Unit and an Emergency Room. The past ten years have been spent working as the Medical Coordinator for Electric Insurance Company in Beverly, Massachusetts. As a legal nurse consultant, she has provided a critical analysis of the more medically complex claims and assisted with negotiation strategies for the claims adjusters and the litigation team. Ms. Leibe also has been responsible for the development and presentation of medical educational programs for her team. She was the recipient of the Electric Insurance Professional Excellence Award in 2006 and most recently nominated for the Pillar Award for her continuing contributions to the success of Electric Insurance Company. Ms. Leibe is currently a member of the AALNC, American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and a past member of the AAOHN, American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. She also is a member of the local Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and is registered as a volunteer to provide assistance with public health services during emergencies. BARBARA J. LEVIN is a certified orthopedic nurse (ONC) and was named a clinical scholar at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she works on the orthopaedic trauma unit. This is where she received the prestigious Partners in Excellence award for exemplary performance in outstanding community contributions. Ms. Levin has several passions in practice and this includes her love of teaching about clinical, legal and patient safetyinitiatives. She draws on a wealth of nursing experience in a myraid of clinical settings. Ms. Levin has published and lectured to nurses nationwide about patient safety, orthopaedics and documentation practices. Assisting facilities in redesigning key policies and procedures, she has improved patient safety and reporting of such incidents. Ms. Levin is an experienced legal nurse consultant providing education for clients in a variety of roles. Earning the distinction of Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC), she served as president of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) and was on the national board of directors for five years. During Ms. Levin's term on the AALNC board of directors, she chaired the committee for the development and writing of the position statement, "The Specialty Practice of Legal Nurse Consulting." In 2007, she received the national honor of Member of the Year from AALN. Ms. Levin collaborated with the American Nurses Association (ANA) to define the scope and standards of legal nurse consulting and to gain recognition for the legal nurse specialty as a nationally recognized and accepted nursing specialty. In working with ANA, she chaired the project to publish "Legal Nurse Consulting: Scope & Standards of Practice." Ms. Levin has presented numerous programs to national and international conferences, in addition to local chapter meetings. She has presented to nurses, physicians, medical students, nursing students and attorneys nationally, covering topics which include orthopaedics, medical-surgical, legal nursing, diversity in practice, and patient safety programs. Ms. Levin designed a patient safety program, "Untangling Charlotte's Web" that received both national and international acclaim for its powerful insightful and inspirational message. FRANK J. RICCIO is an attorney in Braintree, Massachusetts, where his main areas of practice are civil litigation, medical and dental malpractice, crime victim civil liability, liquor liability, general negligence, insurance law, automobile and trucking tort law, and appellate law. Mr. Riccio is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, National Board of Trial Advocacy - Civil Trial Specialist, The National Crime Victim Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, American Association For Justice (Formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and Norfolk County Bar Association (Conciliator). He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals 1st Circuit and U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts. Mr. Riccio earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from Boston College, his D.M.D. degree from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University.
