July 29 - New Orleans LAURENCE COHEN is a sole practitioner who has practiced automobile law, maritime law and personal injury law in New Orleans since 1982. He has represented thousands of people who have been injured or hurt in accidents, and tried hundreds of cases all over the state. A civic leader since before Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Cohen has served on the District 5 Rebuild Committee and as president of the Lakeshore Property Owners Association. Throughout the two years after the storm, he has led the neighborhood's efforts in rebuilding to its pre-Katrina glory. Mr. Cohen earned his B.S. degree at the United States Merchant Marine Academy and his J.D. degree at Tulane University. SCOTT W. McQUAIG is a practicing attorney with the law firm of McQuaig & Associates, where he concentrates his practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on representation of insurance carriers and self-insureds in the areas of automobile and transportation liability, products liability, maritime law, premises liability and employer's liability/workers' compensation. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of New Orleans and his J.D. degree from Tulane Law School. Mr. McQuaig is a member of the Louisiana, Federal and American bar associations, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, The Maritime Law Association of the United States, The Defense Research Institute, The National Institute of Trial Advocacy, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and The Association for Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy. JOHN W. REDMANN is a sole practitioner in New Orleans, where his practice is focused on representing individuals who are injured and businesses that are damaged, through the fault of others, including personal injury claims, workers' compensation claims and Katrina/Rita insurance claims. He is a Certified Louisiana Continuing Legal Education Instructor, on faculty with PrimeTime Legal CLE, Inc. and regular "Skills Course" instructor at Loyola Law School in New Orleans. Mr. Redmann has moderated many CLE's through the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association. July 30 - Baton Rouge MURPHY F. BELL JR. is a partner with the Baton Rouge law firm of Jackson-Bell Attorneys At Law, LLC, where he practices in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury and criminal law. He earned his B.B.A. degree from Howard University and his J.D. degree from Southern University. Mr. Bell is a member the Federal Court (Middle, Eastern and Western districts) and the Louisiana State Bar Association. SERA H. RUSSELL III is a sole practitioner in Lafayette specializing in personal injury, including maritime and medical negligence cases. He is a Judge Pro Tempore of the Lafayette City Court. Mr. Russell earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University and his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University Law School. Mr. Russell is an arbitrator and mediator for the Louisiana State Bar Association Attorney Dispute Program. Mr. Russell has lectured at a number of seminars in the past on medical malpractice and trial practice. He is a member of the Louisiana State and American bar associations, the Louisiana Association for Justice (board member) and the Lafayette Trial Lawyers Association (secretary). WHITTINGTON is a sole practitioner and notary public in Baton Rouge. He has been practicing law for more than 15 years in general civil litigation specializing in personal injury and maritime law. Mr. Whittington earned his B.S. degree from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana and his J.D. degree from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge.
