JOHN T. BALHOFF II is a partner in the New Orleans law firm of Sher Garner Cahill Richter Klein & Hilbert, L.L.C. His legal practice includes the areas of environmental and toxic tort, commercial litigation, insurance defense, premises liability, construction litigation, foreclosures, title litigation, automobile liability, and securities litigation. Ms. Durio also has significant civil litigation experience in state and federal courts in Louisiana representing individual and corporate clients in contract and commercial litigation matters. He was formerly a partner in the law firm of Schaneville & Baringer, L.L.C., which he co-founded in 1981, (now the Baringer Law Firm, LLC), where he remains of counsel; and president of Advantage Title and Escrow, Inc. from 1993 through 2005. He practices in the areas of real estate transfers and litigation, contract litigation and commercial law. He is an agent for First American Title Insurance Company. Mr. Schaneville earned his B.S. and J.D. degrees from Louisiana State University, and is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State and American bar associations. He is admitted to practice in all federal districts in the State of Louisiana, has served as an adjunct professor in mass communications law from 1992 through 2006 at Southern University, and is currently an instructor at LSU's continuing education department where he teaches the statewide notary preparatory course.
