MICHELE AVERY is a Litigation and Valuation Senior Manager at LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand. Ms. Avery is a Certified Forensic Financial Analyst in matrimonial litigation, a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst and an Accredited Business Valuator. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin, and her M.B.A. from Louisiana State University. She is a member of the American Society of Women Accountants (Education Committee Chairman, 2006), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Business Consulting Committee of the Louisiana CPA Society, Estate and Financial Planning Committee of Louisiana CPA Society, Northshore Chapter of the Louisiana CPA Society (President, 2007-2008), and the Northshore Estate and Financial Planning Society. Ms. Avery is a frequent lecturer and author to professional groups around the state. She has also testified as an expert at trial or by deposition. STEVEN E. BAIN is a sole practitioner, working primarily in the areas of elder law and special needs planning. He assists clients by addressing the issues of aging, including complex health care, long-term care and estate planning. Mr. Bain is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is also a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana State and American bar associations. He is a co-author of a reference book for the general public concerning the issues of Louisiana successions titled, Guiding Those Left Behind in Louisiana: Settling the Affairs of Your Loved One. Mr. Bain earned his J.D. degree from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. JENNIFER C. BORDES is a director in the tax consulting services department of LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand. She has extensive experience in all aspects of individual, corporation, S corporation, partnership, estate and trust tax compliance and planning. She concentrates her efforts in the gift and estate-planning arena. Ms. Bordes frequently speaks on taxation issues for professional, civic and business organizations, as well as conducting continuing professional education programs for other accountants. She is also an adjunct professor of Accounting for the School of Business at the University of New Orleans. She earned her B.S. degree, in accounting, from Loyola University of the South in 1984, and her M.S. degree, in taxation, from the University of New Orleans in 1995. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning® (CSEP). She was listed in the New Orleans CityBusiness 2010 Women of the Year and was given The McGladrey Alliance Partner Development Plan Master Rainmaker Award in 2010. Ms. Bordes is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (member, Estate and Financial Planning Committee), and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. RONALD W. MORRISON JR. practices with the law firm of Livaccari Villarrubia Lemmon L.L.C., where his areas of practice are focused on successions; estate planning, including testaments and trusts instruments; and business and business succession planning. Mr. Morrison is a board certified specialist in estate planning and administration by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Prior to joining Livaccari Villarrubia Lemmon L.L.C., he practiced primarily in the areas of successions, bankruptcy, corporate formations and corporate litigation, representing national companies in various aspects of commercial law. Mr. Morrison earned his B.S. degree from the University of New Orleans and his J.D. degree from Southern University Law Center. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Jefferson Bar Association and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle districts of Louisiana. KIM M. O'DOWD is a partner with the New Orleans law firm of O'Dowd & O'Dowd, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, personal injury and estate planning. She is a board-certified family law specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. O'Dowd has served as an instructor of business law at Delgado College and has lectured for the New Orleans Bar Association on domestic law. She is a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana State (Family Law Section) and American (Family Law Section) bar associations. Ms. O'Dowd earned both her B.S. and J.D. degrees from Louisiana State University and A & M College.
