BARRY H. GRODSKY is a partner in the law firm of Taggart Morton, L.L.C., where he practices in the areas of creditors' rights, banking law, bankruptcy, lender liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Grodsky has practiced in the area of banking law over the past 25 years and has represented national, regional, and local financial institutions in a wide variety of matters. He has given more than 60 lectures with accompanying writings and articles, specifically in the area of bankruptcy law, and also lectures on a regular basis in other areas of banking law. Additionally, Mr. Grodsky teaches undergraduate courses including business law, bankruptcy law, and business structures at Tulane University and the University of New Orleans, as well as being actively engaged in teaching and training for financial institution clients. He earned his B.B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Texas; and his J.D. degree from Tulane University of Louisiana. Mr. Grodsky is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association (Committee on Bankruptcy Law, Debtors' Rights and Creditors' Remedies, former chairman). EDWIN L. HIGHTOWER, JD, MBA, has practiced law in Louisiana for more than 15 years and recently started the new law firm, Hightower Commercial Law Center, LLC, in the Baton Rouge area. He has worked with closely-held companies, business owners, entrepreneurs, and their insurers in protecting their legal interests in court and contract negotiations. Additionally, he has defended numerous professionals, including law enforcement officers, architects, engineers, real estate agents, appraisers, contractors, and others concerning claims of malpractice. Mr. Hightower earned his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York; his law degree from Tulane Law School; and his MBA graduate degree from the Louisiana State University School of Business. He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas. Mr. Hightower has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana and had one case presented to the United States Supreme Court. Recently, he has become active in the areas related to animal law issues, including matters associated with veterinary medicine and animal trusts. RYAN O. LUMINAIS is an attorney in the law firm of Sher Garner Cahill Richter Klein & Hilbert, L.L.C. His legal practice includes areas of commercial litigation, medical products and devices, professional and products liability, premises liability, and collections. Mr. Luminais earned his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in political science, from the University of New Orleans, where he received honors for graduating with the highest GPA in his graduation class. He also earned his J.D. degree and bachelor of civil law degree from Louisiana State University. Mr. Luminais is admitted to practice before all Louisiana and Mississippi state courts. He also is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court in the Northern and Southern districts of Mississippi; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana; and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has 90% of his practice devoted to litigation. Mr. Luminais has experience in trial and in oral arguments. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.
