HON. JERRY A. BROWN is Chief Judge with the United States Bankruptcy Court. Judge Brown received his B.A. degree from Murray State University and his J.D. degree from Tulane University. HON. ELIZABETH MAGNER was sworn in as Federal Bankruptcy Judge with the United States Bankruptcy Court on September 9, 2005 after a long career as a partner in a large law firm and a sole practitioner. Judge Magner received her B.S. and J.D. degrees from Louisiana State University. MARY LANGSTON is an Assistant U.S. Trustee. Ms. Langston received her B.B.A. degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also attended St. Mary's University of San Antonio. WILBUR J. BABIN JR. is a member of The Derbes Law Firm, L.L.C., in Metairie where his areas of practice include bankruptcy law, business litigation, successions law and real estate law. He is a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel Trustee, Eastern District of Louisiana since 1990. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Mr. Babin earned his B.S. degree from Tulane University of Louisiana and his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University. DAVID F. WAGUESPACK is a partner in the firm Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux, LLC, specializing in bankruptcy, commercial litigation, creditor's rights, and gaming law. He has represented lenders, debtors, creditor committees, and other parties in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations and related litigation and has served as a Chapter 11 trustee. Mr. Waguespack regularly represents investors acquiring property in and out of bankruptcy. He has handled litigation relating to liens, real estate, construction, shareholder's rights, lender liability, and other commercial matters. He is board certified in business bankruptcy law by the American and Louisiana Boards of Certification. He is a co-chair of the Corporate Governance Subcommittee of the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association and serves on the TARP Task Force of the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association. Mr. Waguespack is currently Vice-Chair of the Bankruptcy Law Advisory Committee. He received his B.A. degree from Rhodes College and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Tulane University. He is a member of the American, Federal, and Louisiana State bar associations and he is an adjunct professor of business law at Tulane University. KEVIN K. GIPSON is an attorney in Louisiana, where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy, successions, wills and estates, personal injury, divorce, custody and support and business law. Mr. Gipson received his B.A. degree from the University of New Orleans and his J.D. degree from Loyola University School of Law. Mr. Gipson is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), the Bankruptcy Law Network and the Mortgage Law Network. MODERATOR - JAN M. HAYDEN concentrates her practice in the field of business reorganizations, workouts and bankruptcy. She has represented trustees, debtors-in-possession, creditors' committees and secured creditors in all types of cases, including retail operations, gaming operations, oil and gas exploration companies, nursing homes, health care agencies, hotels, apartment complexes, an alligator farm, Louisiana World Exposition, and the debtors in the Babcock & Wilcox Company Chapter 11 proceeding. Ms. Hayden has been involved in most of Louisiana's largest business bankruptcies. Ms. Hayden received her B.A. and J.D. degree from Louisiana State University. She has served on the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee and two terms as the chairperson of the Consumer Protection, Lender Liability and Bankruptcy Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. For several years she has served on the Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee. Ms. Hayden has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1993, and has been listed as one of the top 10 lawyers in Louisiana by Louisiana Super Lawyers since 2007. Ms. Hayden was named by Best Lawyers in America, the 2010 New Orleans Bankruptcy and Creditor's Rights Attorney of the Year. She is a fellow with the American College of Bankruptcy and the Louisiana State Bar Foundation. She is a frequent lecturer for the Louisiana State Bar Association and other organizations. Ms. Hayden is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Louisiana. She also is a member of the American, Federal Bar and New Orleans bar associations and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
