W. CHRISTOPHER BEARY is a managing member of the New Orleans law firm of Orrill, Cordell & Beary, L.L.C. Mr. Beary focuses his practice in general business advice as well as the handling of litigation and transactions. He has been involved in complex commercial bankruptcy cases, class action litigation, multi-district litigation, shareholder disputes, labor issues, tax litigation, and multi-million dollar commercial transactions and arbitrations. Mr. Beary earned his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans, and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Tulane University. He has been a Certified Public Accountant, Inactive Status, in Louisiana since 1990. BRENDA CHRISTIANSEN is a vice president with the C.P.A. firm of LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand. Ms. Christiansen has been in public accounting for 18 years; 16 years with LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand, and two years with KPMG, and had worked in industry accounting for 11 years prior. She is responsible for the accounting department that provides accounting/controllership services to law firms on a monthly and annual basis. Ms. Christiansen has spoken at the National Association of Legal Administrators Convention, and has also lectured for the local chapter ALA. She earned her B.S. degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a member of the AICPA and Louisiana State Society of CPAs. She is also a Board Member of Mt. Carmel High School and a Board Member for the Kenner Professional Business Association. She is also a volunteer for Junior Achievement and other local charities in the New Orleans region. L. GILL FENERTY is a vice president of Tax Consulting Services with the C.P.A. firm of LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand. Before joining LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand, Mr. Fenerty served as administrator for taxes with one of the largest law firms in the country. His practice specializes in law firms, multi-state flow-through entities and taxation issues for their owners. His lecture experience includes, making partner and the pros and cons of going from W-2 to K-1. Mr. Fenerty earned his B.A. degree from Holy Cross College, Worchester, Massachusetts and his UNO, Pre CPA. He is a member of the AICPA, the Society of Louisiana CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
