April 19 - Louisville TIMOTHY R. McCARTHY is a sole practitioner in the Louisville law firm of Nutt Law Office. He concentrates his practice on representing the plaintiff's interest in personal injury and wrongful death cases, which involves automobile, premises liability or medical malpractice litigation. Mr. McCarthy has spoken at various continuing legal education programs on the topic of insurance coverage and the topic of personal injury. NICHOLS is a partner with the firm of Wellman, Nichols & Smith, PLLC, in Lexington, Kentucky. He practices medical malpractice, personal injury, licensure and regulatory cases in Kentucky and Tennessee. Mr. Nichols has handled everything from simple slip and fall cases to complex catastrophic injury and death cases involving medical malpractice. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association, where he serves on the executive committee for the Young Lawyers Section. Mr. Sayles earned both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Northern Kentucky University and his J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. HILARY M. WORNE is an attorney with the law firm of Landrum & Shouse, LLP. She graduated from the University of the South-Sewanee, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in Psychology. From there, Ms. Worne attended the University of Kentucky College of Law where she earned her J.D. degree. Since graduation, she has been practicing law and focusing mostly on insurance defense litigation. Ms. Worne's cases have ranged from automobile accidents and premises liability to municipal liability. However, her research specializes and focuses on the recent developments in premises liability law. Ms. Worne wrote two articles recently on the subject. Outside of the office, she served as an assistant adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law on the topic of Negotiations.
