February 2 - Louisville SAMUEL B. CARL practices law in Louisville, Shelbyville and Taylorsville. He concentrates on general civil trial work, focusing on bodily injury claims. Mr. Carl has served as lead trial counsel in a wide variety of cases, including insurance bad faith, premises liability, auto and truck negligence, news media libel, and products liability. JANE BRANNON is an attorney with the firm of Jackson Kelly PLLC, where she focuses her practice on litigation. She has handled a wide range of litigation matters for a number of the nation's largest businesses, including auto and trucking accidents, premises liability, homeowner's liability, equine mortality insurance, professional liability insurance for nursing homes and resident care facilities, and many other claims covered by insurance policies. Ms. Brannon has asserted and defended numerous motions for declaratory judgment regarding complex issues of coverage, such as scope of employment and the application of the laws of other states. She has 15 years of experience in analyzing thorny coverage issues and providing thorough and insightful opinions to insurers. Ms. Brannon also has extensive experience in defending claims for common law bad faith and alleged violations of the Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky, the U.S. District Court for the Western and Eastern districts of Kentucky, and in front of the Supreme Court of the United States.
