JAMES M. FRANCIS is the owner of Francis Law Office, PLLC. His practice focus is business/corporate law, commercial litigation, and intellectual property. Mr. Francis is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys. Mr. Francis also is a member of American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association (AIPLA) Patent Litigation Committee, where he recently served in an appointed capacity to advise AIPLA on proposed changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure for the purpose of directing lobbying efforts with Congress. He earned his B.S. degree from Marshall University and his J.D. degree from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law. J. MARK GRUNDY is a member in the law firm of Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, where he concentrates his practice in general business litigation and dispute resolution, and chairs the construction litigation team. He has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and in Kentucky Super Lawyers in the categories of commercial litigation and construction law. Mr. Grundy's 23 year range of experience includes contract, commercial, construction, probate, real estate, trade secret, employee benefit and products liability law. Significant Kentucky decisions obtained by him include recovering a judgment in excess of $10 million for Kentucky taxpayers; establishing law for the interpretation of contracts; and case law which has been used as a teaching model for evidentiary standards. He is AV peer review rated by Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest ranking for general ethical and legal ability standards. CHADWICK A. McTIGHE is a member of Stites & Harbison PLLC's business litigation service group and is active in the firm's class action and appellate practice teams. He practices extensively in class action litigation, including consumer class actions, wage and hour disputes, and utilities cases. Mr. McTighe's practice also includes a wide range of other types of litigation, including fiduciary duty litigation, shareholder and membership disputes, business torts (including trade secret and tortious interference litigation), and other commercial disputes. He recently briefed and argued an appeal involving standards concerning fiduciary duty and diversion of business opportunities for limited liability companies, matters of first impression in Kentucky, resulting in a published Kentucky Court of Appeals opinion, Patmon v. Hobbs, 280 S.W.3d 589 (Ky. Ct. App. 2009). Mr. McTighe also believes strongly in providing pro bono legal services, particularly including representation of victims of domestic violence. He earned his undergraduate degree the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School. CASSANDRA J. WIEMKEN is an attorney with Stites & Harbison PLLC's business litigation and torts and insurance service groups. Her primary areas of practice include product liability and class action litigation. In particular, Ms. Wiemken has experience with medical device product liability and food contamination litigation. She earned her J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law and her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Southern Illinois University. Ms. Wiemken is a member of the Kentucky and Louisville bar associations, as well as the Defense Research Institute. She also serves as a volunteer lawyer for the Legal Aid Society.
