MICHAEL A. BREEN is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. He also has studied at Oxford University. Mr. Breen lectures on bad faith issues and his book, Bad Faith in Kentucky: A Primer, has been cited as authoritative by the Kentucky Supreme Court. Mr. Breen currently is pursuing a master's degree in religion at Reformed Theological Seminary. He is a partner in the Bowling Green law firm of Breen & Morgan, Attorneys at Law, P.S.C. BRADLEY C. HOOKS is a partner with the firm of Landrum & Shouse LLP, in Lexington, Kentucky. His primary focus of practice is insurance defense. Mr. Hooks is a member of the Fayette County and Kentucky bar associations. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the U.S. District Courts of Kentucky, (Eastern and Western districts) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Mr. Hooks earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Kentucky. ERNEST H. JONES II is a partner in the law firm of Sturgill, Turner, Barker & Moloney, PLLC, in Lexington, where he practices in the areas of civil litigation, insurance defense, products liability defense, premises liability, insurance fraud and special investigations unit claims, insurance coverage analysis, extra-contractual liability (bad faith claims), catastrophic injury cases (brain damage and spinal cord injuries) and swimming pool cases. He is a member of the American (ABA Tort and Insurance Practice Section [TIPS] and the Kentucky bar associations, the Kentucky Defense Counsel (Board of Directors of KDC from 1984-1989 and again from 1994-1998, elected president 1988-1989 and 1997-1998), the Defense Research Institute, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and currently serves on the Ethics Committee of the Kentucky Bar Association. Mr. Jones earned his B.S. degree from the University of Kentucky and his J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He has spoken on issues involving trial practice and strategy, discovery abuses, litigating insurance coverage disputes (declaratory judgment actions), and discovery and litigation strategies in claims against insurers alleging violations of Kentucky's Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act. NANCY B. LOUCKS is a member in the Louisville office of the law firm of Frost Brown Todd LLC, where she focuses her practice in trucking and commercial transportation, insurance coverage, and equine litigation. Prior to coming to Frost Brown Todd LLC, she served as a clerk to Kentucky's former chief justice, Robert F. Stephens. Immediately thereafter, Ms. Loucks spent seven years representing Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, focusing on multi-district insurance coverage litigation. She is a member of the American, Kentucky and Louisville bar associations; the Defense Research Institute; the Transportation Lawyers Association; the Kentucky Motor Transport Association; and the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators. Ms. Loucks earned her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Kentucky.
