HELEN L. BONGARD earned her J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law and her B.A. degree from Alma College. She has been in private practice in Lexington, Kentucky since 1991, focusing on family and juvenile law. Ms. Bongard has also taught undergraduate and graduate law courses at Sullivan University's Lexington campus since 1992, where she is a full-time faculty member and chair of the legal studies department. She has spoken at numerous national, state and local conferences on the paralegal profession and children's legal issues. Ms. Bongard has been an attorney for the Fayette Family Drug Court and is a member of the Fayette Family Court Advisory Board and the Greater Lexington Paralegal Association, as well as the Fayette County and Kentucky bar associations. HON. LUCINDA C. MASTERTON is a judge with Fayette County Circuit Court. She engaged in a general practice of law, focusing on family mediation and bankruptcy. Judge Masterton was a Bankruptcy Trustee for the Eastern District of Kentucky and administered almost 10,000 bankruptcy cases before leaving that office. Certified as a mediator by the Mediation Center of Kentucky in 1999, she was an active mediator in family court, both in motion hour at court, and at the Mediation Center, amassing thousands of hours of mediation experience. Judge Masterton was an advanced practitioner member of the Association for Conflict Resolution. She was also a facilitator for the Cooperative Parenting and Divorce program offered by the Mediation Center. In 2001, Judge Masterton received the Law Day Award from the Mediation Center. She is also a mediation trainer, teaching and coaching in the general and divorce mediation courses offered by the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts. She ran as an unopposed candidate for Family Court Judge for the Fifth Division in Fayette County and took the bench in January, 2007. In addition to her duties as a Family Court Judge, Judge Masterton was a judge for family drug court and juvenile drug court, and is the lead judge for the Fayette County Model Court project. She serves on numerous boards and committees, including the Domestic Violence Prevention Board; the Race, Community and Child Welfare Commission; the Court Improvement Project Advisory Committee; and is very active with many of the subcommittees of the Model Court project. Judge Masterton completed her undergraduate work at Northwestern University and graduated from West Virginia University College of Law. JENNIFER MCVAY MARTIN is the principal of the Law Offices of Jennifer McVay Martin, P.S.C., where she practices in the areas of family law, real estate, estate planning and general civil litigation. Ms. Martin is a member of the Kentucky Justice Association (KATA), the Domestic Relations Law Practice Section (past-chair), the Kentucky and the Fayette County bar associations (past chair, Domestic Relations Section), the Central Kentucky Lawyer Referral Program and the Lexington Board of Realtors (realtor member and licensed real estate broker). Ms. Martin earned her Bachelor of Business Management degree from the University of Kentucky and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. She is licensed in Kentucky, Arkansas and Florida (pending). CATHERINE ANN MONZINGO is a sole practitioner in Lexington, Kentucky, where her areas of practice include family law, family mediation and criminal defense. Ms. Monzingo is a member of the Fayette County Bar Association and was chair of its Domestic Relations Section for 2010-11. She is a member of the Kentucky and American bar associations (Family Law and Criminal sections), the Association for Conflict Resolution, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Ms. Monzingo is a certified family mediator and earned her J.D., B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Kentucky.
