LORI A. GREGORY is an associate in the Kansas City law firm of Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.C., where she practices in the areas of estate planning and probate, tax, and corporate law. Before joining Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.C., Ms. Gregory was an associate (1988-1994) and shareholder (1994-1999) with Mitchell, Kristl & Lieber, P.C. She earned her B.S. degree, magna cum laude, in business administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia and her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia School of law, where she received the Am. Jur. Award. Ms. Gregory is a member of The Missouri Bar, and the Kansas (Probate Law Committee), the Kansas City Metropolitan and the Johnson County (Probate Law Committee) bar associations. LINDA HART TABORY is senior counsel to the Hardwick Law Firm, LLC, in Kansas City, Missouri, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of guardianships, special needs trusts, elder law and probate matters. Ms. Tabory began practicing law in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. House of Representatives. She subsequently was a teaching fellow at Georgetown University Law Center and went on to the Office of Chief Counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration. Ms. Tabory went into the private practice of law in 1997 and immediately began concentrating on probate issues. She is a frequent speaker to both professional groups and lay people on probate and elder law issues. Ms. Tabory is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, The Missouri Bar and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is currently on the board of the Missouri Chapter of NAELA and is a past co-chairperson of the Nursing Home Committee of KCMBA. Ms. Tabory earned her B.S. degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and her J.D. degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she was founder and editor-in-chief of the Minnesota Journal of Public Law. STACEY JANSSEN is an attorney with the Law Office of Stacey Janssen, P.A., where she practices in the areas of elder and disability law. She gained extensive experience in elder law while working in private practice. Prior to that, Ms. Janssen worked for Kansas Legal Services, where she provided legal services to seniors in Johnson County. She co-founded the Kansas Elder Law Hotline, a statewide advice and referral service for thousands of elderly Kansans and their families. Ms. Janssen also served as an intern supervisor and guest lecturer for the University of Kansas School of Law Elder Law Clinic. She is a frequent speaker on Medicaid planning, patient's rights and elder law topics of concern at community and continuing legal education events. Ms. Janssen co-wrote the "Adult Care Homes" chapter of the Kansas Bar Association's Long Term Care Handbook. She is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, serving on its Elder and Disability Issues and Legal Aid committees. Ms. Janssen also is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, the Kansas Women's Attorney Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She earned her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Kansas. SAMANTHA SHEPHERD is the founding attorney of Shepherd Elder Law Group, LLC. Her practice areas encompass elder law, estate planning, long term care planning and asset protection, Medicaid planning, Missouri Medicaid applications (MOHealthnet) and appeals, probate and trust administration, guardianships, and special needs trusts. Ms. Shepherd is a 1994 graduate of Boston College Law School, where she received her Juris Doctorate. She received her LLM degree in estate planning from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She is licensed to practice in Missouri and Maine. Ms. Shepherd is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Missouri Chapter of NAELA. Ms. Shepherd has been appointed as a vice-chair of the Elder Law Committee for The Missouri Bar and will serve during the 2010-2011 bar year. She has also been nominated for the position of treasurer of the Missouri Chapter of NAELA. Ms. Shepherd currently serves as a director on the Board of Directors and is the chair of the Membership Committee for Missouri NAELA. Ms. Shepherd is on the Committee for the Missouri Seniors' Legal Helpline.
