May 24 - Wichita BRIAN R. CARMAN is an associate attorney with Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson, L.C., where he practices in the areas of family law, adoption, civil litigation, DUI, guardianship/conservatorship, traffic violations, wills, criminal, domestic violence, estate planning, and protection from stalking. He is licensed to practice in Kansas and the U.S. District Court - District of Kansas. Mr. Carman is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, Kansas Association for Justice, Kansas Bar Association, and the Wichita Bar Association. Mr. Carman graduated with a B.S. degree from Kansas State University in 2000 and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree from Washburn University School of Law in 2004. LEAH GAGNE attended Wichita State University receiving her degree in psychology in 1987. She then attended Syracuse University Law School in upstate New York, graduating in 1990 with her law degree. Her first employment as an attorney was working for Legal Aid of Western Missouri from 1990 to 1993. The next seven years were spent working for the law firm of Shughart Thompson & Kilroy as their pro bono attorney. In 2000, she moved back to Wichita and worked as an attorney for Kansas Legal Services until 2004. In 2004, Ms. Gagne opened her own law practice and has been a private practitioner since then. She has been a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Wichita Bar Association since 2000. Her areas of practice since graduating from Syracuse Law School in 1990 have been with families and children. JOSEPH WEBER has been helping individuals, families and businesses throughout Wichita and South Central Kansas for more than 25 years. He attended law school at Washburn University School of Law and graduated in 1984. Mr. Weber is the Topeka, Kansas associate comments editor for the Washburn Law Journal. In 1981, he graduated from Kansas State University, with his Bachelor of Science and Finance degrees. Mr. Weber as been the Judge Pro Tem for the City of Wichita Municipal Court from 1997 to the present. He is a Continuing Legal Education presenter on evictions for landlords. Mr. Weber is a member of the Wichita Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Blessed Sacrament Church and the Better Business Bureau. May 25 - Overland Park JOSEPH W. BOOTH is an attorney with the Law Offices of Joseph W. Booth, where he works as counsel and as an arbitrator. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Washburn School of Law, lecturing on collaborative law and financial aspects of divorce. Mr. Booth's practice includes family law, arbitration, adoption, surrogate parenting contracts and appellate practice. He lectures nationwide to private practice attorneys, as well as military lawyers on family law issues, including property valuations, child custody, child support and litigation. Mr. Booth earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Ottawa University, his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Washburn School of Law, and his master's degree from St. Paul's School of Theology. He is on drafting committees of the Uniform Laws Commission (formally NCCUSL) as the ABA liaison, drafting the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA) and developing a Uniform Statute on Parental Relocation. Mr. Booth is a member of the Publications Board of the American Bar Association Family Law Section; he published "A Guide for Assisting Military Families with the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA)," Family Law Quarterly (Summer 2009); and he is a contributing writer for the Matthew Bender Project for the Texas Family Law Handbook. He also is a contributing writer to two editions of the Administrative Manual for Nurse-Midwifery Services, and provides legal advice and training to the ACNM and their members. Mr. Booth is a member of the Earl O'Connor Inns of Court, and a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and The Missouri Bar. Mr. Booth is the past chair of the Child Support Committee and is chair for the long-range planning for the American Bar Association Family Law Section. He is licensed to practice before the state and federal bars of Kansas and Missouri, as well as the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. ROBERT S. JONES is a partner with the firm of Norton Wasserman Jones & Kelly LLC, where he practices in family law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Saline County Bar Association (Past President), Kansas Trial Lawyers Association (Past Vice President), and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAMLA). Mr. Jones received his B.A. degree from Pittsburgh State University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from Washburn School of Law. He was a former speaker for the Kansas Bar Association and the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. NAOMI A. KAUFFMAN has practiced law for more than 30 years, and has been a court-appointed mediator for the Jackson County, Missouri Family Court since 1996. I am currently affiliated with the law firm of Dwyer & Dykes, P.C. in Overland Park, Kansas. She has an active practice in family law which includes the areas of divorce, child support, custody and adoption. Additionally, she practices in the areas of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration, as well as the area of probate including wills, trusts and estate planning. Ms. Kauffman is a collaborative attorney with extensive training in the area of collaborative law and a member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Missouri. She received her bachelor's degree in English, Political Science and Education from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate degree from Whittier College Law School in California. Ms. Kauffman received mediation training at Stanford Law School through the American Bar Association Family Mediation Institute. She also received training in mediation and arbitration through the Early Dispute Resolution Pilot Project of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Ms. Kauffman is a member of the Missouri State Bar, the Kansas Bar, the State Bar of California and for the U.S. District Court of Kansas, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
