GREGORY BECKWITH is an attorney with the Law Office of Steven R. Jacobs, where he represents claimants before administrative law judges, the Appeals Council, and in Federal Court. He has devoted most of his career to Social Security disability and SSI. Mr. Beckwith earned his undergraduate degree from the Lenoir Rhyne University and his J.D. degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law. He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives, as well as the Indiana State and Indianapolis bar associations. MICHAEL L. BLANKENSHIP is a vocational rehabilitation specialist who has been employed in the private sector, the not-for-profit sector, and the public sector. He holds a B.S. degree in psychology and an M.A. degree in counseling psychology. Mr. Blankenship is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Board Certified Professional Counselor (BCPC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Case Manager (CCM). He is a senior disability analyst and a diplomat of the American Board of Disability Analysts. In addition, Mr. Blankenship is an instructor at Ball State University in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Guidance. Forensic rehabilitation is the primary focus of his case load. Mr. Blankenship serves as a vocational expert under contract to the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review of the Social Security Administration; and receives referrals from numerous agencies for purposes of workers' compensation evaluation, short-term and long-term disability, training, and/or placement. Referrals for legal services include Social Security disability, wrongful death, discrimination, divorce, and personal injury which encompasses product liability, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, and motor vehicle accidents. Currently, he serves as president of Blankenship Vocational Services. This agency is an independent private practice providing vocational assessments, job search training, and placement. Case management, labor market analysis, loss of earning capacity analysis, career planning, employment services, and expert court testimony are all within the scope of services provided on a fee basis. Mr. Blankenship has been engaged in the practice of vocational rehabilitation since 1970. He regularly attends college accredited classes and other professional seminars, keeping him aware and abreast of current research, legislation, and concerns relative to providing services to individuals who may have a physical or psychological impairment. ANNETTE RUTKOWSKI is an attorney with the Indianapolis firm of Keller and Keller where she focuses her practice on assisting physically and mentally impaired individuals seeking disability benefits from the Social Security Administration. Ms. Rutkowski limits her practice to representation of claimants who were wrongfully denied Social Security disability benefits. She has broad experience in guiding disability claimants and presenting their claims through all levels of the administrative proceedings. She represents these clients both in local disability hearings and the federal courts. Ms. Rutkowski earned her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and her J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. She is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Socal Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR). Ms. Rutkowski is a trained civil mediator; a graduate of the Indiana Trial Advocacy College; and is admitted to practice in Indiana, and before the Federal District Courts of Southern and Northern Indiana. THEODORE F. SMITH JR. For SS seminars: is a sole practitioner in Anderson, Indiana, where he practices in the areas of Social Security disability, personal injury and wrongful death. He has previously lectured at ICLE (Indiana Center for Continuing Legal Education Forum) where he discussed Social Security issues. Mr. Smith also wrote a law review article on a Social Security case handed down by the Supreme Court published in the Indiana Law Review. He is a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (past president), the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR), The Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Rules of Practice and Procedure Committee of the Indiana Supreme Court (2003-present).
