H. KENNARD BENNETT focuses on guardianships and consumer health issues, including the civil prosecution of nursing home abuse and neglect. Mr. Bennett is a frequent continuing education speaker on nursing home litigation and elder law topics. He has been an invited speaker to groups as diverse as the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, NCCNHR (f/k/a National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the United States Department of Justice, the Michigan Trial Lawyer's Association, the Maine State Bar Association, and Stetson Law School. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member of I.U.P.U.I.'s School of Liberal Arts, teaching Constitutional Law. Mr. Bennett is a 1979 graduate of Wabash College and a 1982 graduate of Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. He has his own solo law practiceand he is also executive director of the new non-profit public interest law firm called “The Center for At-Risk Elders.” Mr. Bennett has served as the editor of the NAELA Quarterly, which is the legal journal of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He previously served as president of the Alzheimer's Association Central Indiana Chapter, and as chairman of the United Senior Action Foundation.

JANE A. MALKOFF, MSN, RN, NP, earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Ball State University and her Master's Degree in Adult Health from Indiana University. She obtained her Nurse Practitioner License in 1994.  Ms. Malkoff has worked in all care settings in order to learn and best serve her clients. She has expertise with such issues as health and wellness, care in the home, selecting appropriate nursing facility, medical care advocacy, nursing home advocacy, and more. Ms. Malkoff has been a “hands on” elder advocate for 25 years. She founded her company Clarity with Jane Malkoff LLC, in 2006 to focus solely on care consultant and management. She provides on-site assessments and comprehensive care management strategies for Central Indiana residents as well as surrounding areas and serves as consultant to those in need of her services outside of her immediate physical location via phone or web.

SCOTT R. SEVERNS is known by many in Indiana as the "Father of Elder Law." Mr. Severns is a founding member and past president of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the senior partner of Severns & Stinson. He graduated cum laude from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 1978. His professional career has focused on legal and health care issues that confront older adults and people with disabilities. Mr. Severns has been certified as an elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Foundation. A past president of the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform and a former policy analyst for United Senior Action, he has successfully lobbied for nursing home reform laws and was a primary architect of Indiana's home health care legislation known as the CHOICE program. Mr. Severns has been named a "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics and Indianapolis Monthly magazine for the past five years. He is a regular faculty member for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, the American Bar Association, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

JEFFERY D. STINSON is a partner of Severns & Stinson, P.C. Mr. Stinson's practice focuses on elder law, estate planning, long term care planning, Medicaid planning, special needs planning for the disabled, guardianship, and estate administration. He is a 1998 graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with Highest Distinction. Mr. Stinson graduated from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 2002. He has been certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, a distinction held by only a handful of lawyers in Indiana. Mr. Stinson is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). He currently serves as chair-elect of the Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and he is the immediate past president of the Indiana Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
