BRET G. BREWER, CPA/ABV, ASA, CBA, CVA, is the founder and managing director of 59-60, Inc. A winner of the Indiana CPA Society's Five Under 35 Award, Mr. Brewer is one of seven people in the nation with all of the following credentials: Certified Business Valuation Analyst (CBA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Accredited Senior Appraiser Valuation (ASA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV). He has appraised more than 200 companies in a multitude of industries for litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, gifting, and estate tax purposes. Mr. Brewer has taught various aspects of business valuations for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), Family Law Institute, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), Indiana State Chapter, National Business Institute (NBI), Indianapolis Bar Association (IBA), American Society of Appraisers (ASA) Indiana Chapter, Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS), and various other venues. He also has been published in the nationally recognized publications of Shannon Pratt's Business Valuation Update, The Value Examiner and The Matrimonial Strategist. Mr. Brewer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana Certified Public Accountants Society, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, The Institute of Business Appraisers, and The American Society of Appraisers (Indiana Chapter President 2006-2007). He earned his B.S. degrees from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio, followed by additional accounting undergraduate courses at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis, Indiana. MARCUS B. CHANDLER is a partner is the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg, LLP, where he is chair of the global services practice group and the entrepreneurial Services Group. Mr. Chandler counsels growth-oriented businesses throughout the Midwest. A large portion of his practice includes acquisitions and sales of businesses, franchising, licensing, joint ventures, and strategic alliances locally and internationally. Mr. Chandler also works with businesses seeking capital, including venture capital, angel capital and public offerings. He graduated, magna cum laude, from DePauw University and earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago. Mr. Chandler frequently speaks to business owners and management teams on topics including franchising, international licensing, positioning companies for sale or IPO's, and strategies for raising capital for technology-based companies. CHRISTOPHER C. HAGENOW is an attorney with Hopper Blackwell, PC. Mr. Hagenow has substantial experience in litigation and business transactions. He counsels businesses and individuals on business issues, transactions and real estate matters; represents plaintiffs and defendants in court trials, jury trials, arbitrations and mediations; and counsels bank clients regarding loan documentation, workouts, and related business matters. Mr. Hagenow is a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana State (past chair, Young Lawyers Section) and American (member, Business Law Section) bar associations, the Indiana Association for Corporate Renewal, the Venture Club of Indiana Bar Admissions, and is an Indianapolis Bar Foundation Distinguished Fellow. He was admitted into the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Northern districts of Indiana. Mr. Hagenow earned his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his J.D. degree from the Washington and Lee University School of Law. MARTIN W. ZIVITZ is a partner in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP. He is a member of the firm's corporate department and Entrepreneurial Services Practice Group and formerly served on the firm's recruiting committee. His practice includes business and corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions of businesses, entrepreneurial services, acquisitions and dispositions of mortgage pools and servicing rights in secondary markets, venture capital and private equity investments, and a wide variety of other complex transactions. Mr. Zivitz received his B.A. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law–Indianapolis. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, he served as vice president and general counsel for a local medical management company. Mr. Zivitz was accepted for inclusion in the 2009/2010 edition of Strathmore's Who's Who Registry & Global Network for Outstanding Professionals, was selected for inclusion into the 2006/2007 Metropolitan Who's Who in Law "Honors Edition" international registry, and was selected to represent Carmel, Indiana in the 2008/2009 Cambridge Who's Who Registry Among Executives and Professionals. He also was selected for inclusion as an Indiana Rising Star in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions of Indiana Super Lawyers ® for his work in Mergers & Acquisitions, one of only four attorneys to receive such recognition in the state of Indiana for mergers and acquisitions in 2010. The selection process for Rising Stars is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, except that to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less and, while up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list. Mr. Zivitz has prepared and delivered seminars on a variety of business matters, including a presentation at the National Business Institute's 2007 seminar, "Limited Liability Companies - Use LLCs as a Framework for Success." He currently serves an advisory board member for the Indianapolis chapter of The Entrepreneurship Institute, a national non-profit company providing strategic and practical solutions for corporate leaders, and is an active member of the Indiana Chapter of the The Association for Corporate Growth®(ACG), the global community for middle market M&A dealmakers and business leaders focused on driving growth. Mr. Zivitz is a member of the American, Indiana State, and Indianapolis bar associations and is an active member of the Young Professionals of Central Indiana. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Indiana.
