ROBERT R. FOOS JR. is a partner with the Indianapolis office of Lewis Wagner, LLP, where he practices in the area of transportation litigation. Mr. Foos has taught various classes and seminars, including "Mediating Catastrophic Trucking Cases," Motor Transport Underwriter; "Defending Utility Line Strike Cases," Zurich North American; and "UIM Claims in Indiana," Affirmative Insurance Company. His published works include "Landowner Liability in Construction Accidents," The Critical Path (winter 2005) and "Defending Masonry Contracts," The Critical Path. Mr. Foos has an extensive background in all aspects of insurance defense litigation having acted as managing partner for a captive law firm. His areas of experience run the gamut from third party liability claims to complex coverage issues and first party litigation. Mr. Foos is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Defense Trial Council of Indiana and the Trucking Industry Defense Association. He is licensed to practice in both Indiana and Illinois, and has tried numerous cases in both venues. Mr. Foos earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School. JERRY A. GARAU is an attorney with Garau Germano Hanley & Pennington, P.C. Mr. Garau and four other attorneys opened Garau Germano Hanley & Pennington to be focused on representing victims of medical malpractice. He has been pursuing legal claims for individuals in the state of Indiana for more than 20 years. Mr. Garau has presented numerous oral arguments before the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. He has been admitted to the American Board of Trial Advocates, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, a fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation, and has been listed in the Best Lawyers Consumer Guide and Best of the U.S.: Attorneys. Mr. Garau is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State bar associations, American Association for Justice, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (Board of Directors), American Board of Trial Advocates and Indiana Bar Foundation. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Franklin College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Indiana University. TAMMY J. MEYER is a partner in the Indianapolis law firm of MillerMeyer, LLP. Ms. Meyer has tried numerous civil cases, including trucking accidents, wrongful arrests and detention, defamation, premises liability, medical malpractice and products liability. She also has vast experience in the area of insurance coverage and particularly environmental insurance coverage. Ms. Meyer has published numerous articles in local and national law journals on topics ranging from professional ethics to trial strategy. She also speaks frequently for professional associations on a variety of legal topics and serves as an instructor at various trial academies, including the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Ms. Meyer earned her B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from Indiana Wesleyan University and her J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law. She was named an Indiana Super Lawyer and is, once again, lauded as one of the top 25 women lawyers in Indiana in 2009. HON. GARY L. MILLER is a partner with the law firm of MillerMeyer, LLP. He served as Judge in the Marion Superior Court, Civil Division, Room 5 in Indianapolis, Indiana, from January 1, 2001 until his retirement in December 2008. From January 1991 until December 2000, Mr. Miller was assigned to the criminal division, where he presided over more than 400 major felony jury trials. He earned his A.B. degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. Since 1992, Mr. Miller has been an adjunct professor of law at Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. He teaches trial practice and professional responsibility. Mr. Miller has lectured on criminal, civil law and ethical issues throughout the Midwest and Canada. He has presented programs on such topics as judicial ethics, practical ethics for public defenders and cinematic portrayal of courtroom conduct and control. Mr. Miller's current practice concentrates on mediation, litigation and legal ethics.
