BRENDA K. DEVRIES is an attorney with Bingham McHale LLP in Indianapolis, Indiana. She concentrates her practice in the area of litigation. Ms. Devries is a member of the Indiana State, Indianapolis and American bar associations. She spent time as an intern with the City Attorney's Office in Grand Rapids, MI. Ms. Devries earned her undergraduate from Calvin College and her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. While there she was a member of the Indiana Health Law Review, where she served as associate editor. DOUGLAS C. HANEY has been City Attorney for the City of Carmel, Indiana, since 1997. Mr. Haney earned his B.A. degree, with distinction, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his M.A. degree from Butler University, his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin and his LLM. degree from Georgetown Law Center. Mr. Haney serves as chair of the Governmental Practice Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, as a member of the ISBA House of Delegates, and as a member of the Legislative Committee of the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. He is also the International Municipal Lawyer's Association State Chair for Indiana and former chair of IMLA's Litigation and Risk Management Section. In 2006, IMLA designated Mr. Haney a Local Government Fellow in recognition of his demonstrated excellence in the field of local government law. He is believed to be the first Indiana attorney to be so distinguished. ANDREW MALLON is an attorney with Drewry Simmons Vornehem, LLP. He has an extensive background in government services, including first-chair litigation and counseling experience for public entities. Prior to joining Drewry Simmons Vornehem, LLP, Mr. Mallon served as the director of elections for the Marion County Election Board. He oversaw all aspects of administering elections in Mario County Indiana, including public contract negotiations and drafting, election law compliance, operations management, public relations and legal counseling for the Election Board and Marion County Clerk. Prior to the Election Board, Mr. Mallon served as counsel for the City of Indianapolis/Marion County through the Office of Corporation Counsel. MOROW is a shareholder in the firm of Stephenson Morow & Semler, P.C., where his areas of practice include municipal law and insurance defense. Mr. Morow is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute, Inc. The firm represents Indiana governmental entities in civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. 1983, employment-related claims, zoning and tort litigation, and related matters. The firm has represented counties, cities school corporations, towns and public officials throughout the state. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Ball State University and his J.D. degree from Valparaiso University. CHRISTOPHER C. MURRAY is an attorney at the law firm of Ogletree Deakins, where he represents businesses, governmental entities, non-profit organizations, and individuals in litigation. Mr. Murray defends clients in a wide variety of employment matters, including wage and hour, discrimination, and retaliation cases, and in actions relating to non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, employment and other contracts, the alleged misappropriation of trade secrets, and claims of unfair competition. He has extensive experience defending clients in collective and class action lawsuits. Mr. Murray also assists clients in maintaining legal compliance and reducing litigation risks by developing effective workplace policies, providing employee training, conducting internal audits, and advising on day-to-day employment and legal issues. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he an Articles Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for Judge Fred I. Parker of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. RUNYAN is an attorney with Kroger, Gardis & Regas, LLP, where he concentrates his practice in the area of business litigation. He has considerable experience litigating non-competition disputes, to include appearing before the Indiana Supreme Court regarding the public policy implications of non-competition agreements in the medical industry. Mr. Runyan also represents clients in commercial contract disputes, has appeared before various administrative agencies, and has counseled in election recount proceedings. He earned his degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and served as an officer in the United States Air Force prior to earning his J.D., from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.
