December 7 - Merrillville JOHN H. LLOYD is a partner with Krieg DeVault. Mr. Lloyd is a member of the firm's Real Estate and Environmental, Business, Health Care, and Litigation practice groups. Mr. Lloyd received his B.A. degree from Northwestern University and his J.D. degree from Notre Dame Law School. He has authored and spoken on many topics in his areas of expertise, including, "Major Land Use Laws in Indiana," National Business Institute; "Indiana Land Use: Current Issues in Subdivision and Annexation," National Business Institute; "Land Use Planning: Eminent Domain in Indiana," National Business Institute; and "Law of Easements," "Zoning and Land Use," and "Land Use Law Update in Indiana," National Business Institute. Mr. Lloyd is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the St. Joseph County Bar Association (member, Board of Directors, 2003-2006; secretary, 2005-2007; vice president, 2007-2008; president elect, 2008-2009; president, 2009-2010), the Lake County Bar Association (member, Board of Directors 1998-1999), the Robert A. Grant Inn of Court and the American Health Lawyers Association. MICHAEL L. MUENICH is the senior practitioner in the law office of Michael L. Muenich, P.C. He has concentrated his practice and experience in municipal law; municipal utilities; planning, zoning and subdivision control, including permitting and environmental work; real estate development; and commercial law. Mr. Muenich has acted as local bond counsel for a number of entities, has been involved in revenue, industrial development and general obligation issues for both private and public clients, is counsel for a number of local businesses and developers, and has worked extensively with municipal utilities (sewer and water). He has lectured to professional groups on municipal water utility, and on construction and dispute resolution for water and sewer projects. Mr. Muenich earned his B.S. degree from Valparaiso University and his J.D. degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. He is a member of the Indiana State and Lake County bar associations. JAMES L. WIESER is a senior partner in the law firm of Wieser & Wyllie LLP, where he practices in the areas of municipal law and real estate development law. He has been a frequent speaker on various planning and zoning matters, with aspects on eminent domain for ICLEF and the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association. Mr. Wieser earned his B.A. degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and his J.D. degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association (past president). December 8 - Indianapolis JOSEPH D. CALDERON is a partner at the law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. He is a member of the real estate group, and practices primarily in the areas of real estate transactions, zoning and property taxation. Mr. Calderon is a Certified Level I and Level II assessor/appraiser. He has spoken at numerous seminars on his areas of practice. Mr. Calderon earned his B.S. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. He is a member of the Indianapolis (Land Use and Zoning Section, past chair) and Indiana State bar associations, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. MICHAEL L. CARMIN is the managing attorney at Andrews, Harrell, Mann, Carmin & Parker, PC, where he practices in the areas of business and real estate law, zoning, land use, and development. Mr. Carmin has lectured at continuing education programs on the use of expert witnesses and Indiana real estate law. He is active in local governmental affairs on behalf of various interest groups and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce on land use and zoning policies of Monroe County and the City of Bloomington. Mr. Carmin is a member of the Monroe County and Indiana State bar associations, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Indiana Land Title Association. He earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. ERIC D. KELLY is one of the nation's foremost land use lawyers and growth management specialists and is vice president with Duncan Associates. He is a professor of urban planning and former dean of the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University. Mr. Kelly earned his B.A. degree from Williams College, his J.D. and M.C.P. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Ph.D. degree from The Union Institute. He frequently presents keynote, luncheon and dinner addresses at state and regional conferences, primarily on legal aspects of planning land use controls. Mr. Kelly has written works such as A Practical Guide to Winning Land Use Approvals and Permits, (co-author), Community Planning: An Introduction to the Comprehensive Plan, (lead co-author) and Zoning Land Use Controls, (general editor). He is a member of the American Bar Association, a charter member of the American Planning Association (past president), a fellow in the American Institute of Certified Planners and a member of the Indiana Land Resources Council. Mr. Kelly has received the Colorado APA chapter's award for Outstanding Service and Educational Leadership, an Outstanding Service Award from the Iowa Chapter of the American Planning Association, and a Planning Sagamore award from the Indiana Chapter of the American Planning Association. In a centenary publication, the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts listed him among its "100 Graduates Who Epitomize Our Future."
