BRIAN M. GARRISON is an attorney with Faegre Baker Daniels, where he concentrates his practice in the counseling and representation of management in labor relations and employment matters. Mr. Garrison has represented employers in various types of traditional labor law matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including defending and prosecuting unfair labor practice charges, representing employers in unfair labor practice trials, and advising clients during union organizing campaigns. His practice also involves representing employers in employment litigation before state and federal courts, and in administrative charges before federal, state, and local agencies. Mr. Garrison regularly advises clients on human resources matters, including disciplinary and termination issues; employment agreements; employment-related policies; and compliance with state and federal employment-related statutes, regulations, and ordinances. He earned his B.A. degree from DePauw University and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Indiana. JEFFREY B. HALBERT is an equity shareholder with Stewart & Irwin PC, where he heads the firm's labor and employment department. Mr. Halbert has extensive experience litigating all forms of labor and employment matters throughout Indiana. He handles litigation before all state and federal courts in Indiana, including the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. He also practices before numerous state and federal agencies, including but not limited to, the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Indiana Department of Labor. Mr. Halbert has been appointed to the Indiana Association of School Business Officials Human Resources Committee. He also is an officer for the IBA Labor and Employment Section Executive Committee, serving as vice-chairman in 2010 and chairman in 2011-2012. He was selected for inclusion in Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2011. MICHAEL W. PADGETT is a partner in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Jackson Lewis LLP. His practice covers a broad range of employment litigation and traditional labor matters. His litigation experience includes defending claims of race, age, national origin, and general discrimination, as well as sexual harassment, unlawful retaliation, wage and hour claims (including class actions), non-compete matters, and occupational safety and health matters. Mr. Padgett has handled these matters in federal and state courts in several states, as well as in the 7th and 5th U.S. circuit courts of appeals. He has extensive experience in defending claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the state and local labor and employment agencies. Mr. Padgett earned his B.S. degree from Purdue University and his J.D. degree from Indiana University. He is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis bar associations, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and Indiana SHRM. MARK J. ROMANIUK is a partner in the law firm of Faegre Baker Daniels, where he concentrates his practice in the area of labor and employment law. Mr. Romaniuk represents management before state and federal agencies, such as the EEOC, NLRB and Department of Labor; defends against union organizing efforts; and represents management in state and federal court. Mr. Romaniuk is a frequent lecturer on his area of expertise. He received his B.S. degree from Indiana University-Bloomington and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington. He is a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana State and American bar associations. DANA E. STUTZMAN is an attorney at the law firm of Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C., where he counsels clients in numerous aspects of employment law. He advises management on employment-related issues, such as discipline and discharge matters, wage and hour disputes, disability and FMLA discrimination, workplace harassment complaints, covenants not to compete, and policy and handbook review. In addition, Mr. Stutzman regularly appears on behalf of clients in federal and state courts, and agencies in employment-based litigation. His litigation experience encompasses most federal employment laws, including the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Mr. Stutzman has experience litigating a variety of state law claims, including breach of contracts and covenants not to compete, civil rights claims, and wage payment claims. He earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis. Mr. Stutzman is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. MARK R. WATERFILL is a shareholder at the law firm of Benesch Law where he practices in the areas of employment law, commercial litigation and utility law. Mr. Waterfill is widely recognized in the field of employment law and also focuses on litigating commercial disputes. He has lectured and written extensively on a variety of employment law topics for companies and for professional and trade groups. Mr. Waterfill is a contributing lead editor to the Council on Education in Management's Personnel Law Update, a monthly publication. He has been listed in Indiana Super Lawyers and is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association (Board of Managers; distinguished fellow), the Indiana State (member, Labor and Employment Council) and the American bar associations.
