HON. KEVIN M. BARTON is an Indiana Superior Court Judge presiding over Superior Court No. 1 in Johnson County. HON. LANCE D. HAMNER is the presiding judge of Johnson Superior Court No. 3 (8th Judicial Circuit, Indiana). Before being elected judge, he served four and a half terms as Johnson County Prosecutor. Judge Hamner has also been a Marion County deputy prosecutor and a litigation attorney at Barnes & Thornburg in Indianapolis. He has served as adjunct professor of law at the Indiana University School of law, Bloomington, where he taught Trial Advocacy for three years. Judge Hamner has also taught law at many colleges and continuing legal education seminars in Indiana and in other parts of the country. He was recently appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels to serve on the Indiana Criminal Code Evaluation Committee. He is the author of Indiana Search & Seizure Courtroom Manual, Michie (2001, 2002, 2004) and Indiana Arrest, Search and Seizure Courtroom Manual, American Criminal Justice Institute, Tower Publishing (2009). Judge Hamner is listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in American Law. He earned his B.S. degree, summa cum laude, at Weber State University and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, at Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington, where he was on the editorial staff of the Indiana Law Journal. He was also inducted into the Order of the Coif HON. MATTHEW C. KINCAID is the presiding judge of the Boone County Superior Court. He was elected to the bench in 2003 and presides over Superior Court No. 1, a trial court of general jurisdiction which hears civil cases, including dissolution and custody matters, criminal and probate matters. Prior to the bench, Judge Kincaid practiced law in Indianapolis and Chicago. He earned his undergraduate degree from DePauw University and his J.D. degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He serves on the Board of Directors of Boone County Senior Services. HON. STEPHENIE LeMAY-LUKEN is a Superior Court Judge in Hendricks County, where she presides over Superior Court No. 5. Prior to Judge LeMay-Luken's election to the judiciary, she was the Chief Deputy Prosecutor for the Hendricks County Prosecutor's Office. She earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Ball State University and her J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. HON. TIMOTHY W. OAKES is a judge in the Marion County Superior Court, Civil Division, Room 13. Prior to the bench, Judge Oakes was a former law clerk to Indiana Appellate Judge, Linda Chezem, a former Marion County Deputy Prosecutor and a former Contract Public Defender in Marion and Shelby counties. He was also a solo practitioner for more than eight years, including Contract Counsel to the Indiana House of Representatives. Judge Oakes was also president and general counsel for the Indiana Cable Telecommunications Association for the four years immediately prior to being elected to the bench. He earned his B.A. degree at Wabash College, including a semester at Oxford University in England and his J.D. degree at Indiana University School of law at Indianapolis. HON. DAVID SHAHEED is a judge in the Marion County Superior Court and currently presides over Civil Court No. 1. He was elected in 2002 and served after he was appointed judge by Governor Frank O'Bannon from September 1999 until January 2001. Prior to his appointment, Judge Shaheed served as a magistrate and a commissioner in the Marion County Superior Court System. He served nine years at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development as staff attorney for the agency and also chief administrative law judge for the unemployment insurance appeals section. Judge Shaheed has been a lecturer and faculty member on a variety of legal topics. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Evansville and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. MODERATOR - MIRIAM A. RICH is a partner in the law firm of Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan, L.L.P., where she defends civil tort and workers' compensation cases. Ms. Rich has defended personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, and commercial litigation cases throughout the state of Indiana, trying numerous cases to the bench and to juries, and handling appeals to the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court. She has lectured for Indiana CLE on litigation and workers' compensation issues. Ms. Rich earned her B.A. degree from Indiana University and her J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, where she was a member of the Order of Barristers. She is a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, the Indianapolis and National Associations of Insurance Women, and the Indiana Workers' Compensation Institute.
